I actually live in the UK (near Durham) so the Tamiya meets sound great. When I said I'm pleased the kits aren't taxing it wasn't because I don't want to spend time building it, it's because I don't want to get it wrong or break it.

Most of the time I'll run the car on dirt & light gravel but occasionally grass and tarmac.

I think I'll go for the Sand Viper initially and take it from there.

don't worry about the build, tamiya's strongest point is their manuals. they have the best instruction manuals hands down!.

if you can read, you can build and build it correctly.

even the most involved kits are a joy to build because tamiya wrote the book on how to produce an instruction manual.

Indeed they did, one website said that the cr01 was a difficult kit to build and only for advanced hobbyists. i am 15 and the cr01 was my first build and i can tell you it was a piece of cake! the paint is the hardest part on the cr01.

They have, if you have their 2005 radio control guide book like me, it has a shed load of tips and advice as well as a very good step by step guide on how to paint both hard and lexan bodies.
