Hi all im out again with the cars and hope that some of you can make it !

im looking to do some filming of 3 speeds and xc's but theres loads of room for any type of off roader probably 3 square miles to be honest , have a look in my showroom and you can get an idea !

this is a great place for nitro and large scale too with no houses anywhere to be seen for miles ! it is out in the sticks a bit so i advise warm clothing and warm drinks !

im no good with finding and posting maps so if anyone can help me out please do

its the flappits at denholm which is between halifax and keighley i know some on here know where i mean !

Just been checking out the pics of it in your showroom Willy and it looks amazing!

It's a bit of a drive for me but it certainly looks worth it, you could spend weeks there!

Are we having some sort of crystal board so we dont get frequencies clashing?

Dont want someone turning their transmitter on and my car going into a deep puddle... i like to look after my cars and avoid water where possible...

I've had the Blazer running round my backyard, and seems OK. The house brick batteries have even taken a charge!!!

I'm still interested in coming along, just need to see about a day pass from the boss, and see what the "W" word will be like on the day. Not scared of the cold, but don't want to get soaked!!

Been trying to put a pic up anyway given in and heres a link to the google map ! if you look to the left of the map you'll see a sandy colour thats it ! this at a guess is 3 miles square parking and butty van there but as i said very open so come rapped up ! suitable for large scale too !

think ive driven past this place a few times when out working, from the road you cant see much but from above it looks amazing, i should be up for it.

I`m definately up for this 3speed/XC Tamiya meeting,i have been before and it is a superb venue.It`s a bit of a treck for me but well worth the effort.

I will be bringing my Mamoth dump truck too(seen as it is a quarry) it would be ace if anyone else has a Mamoth dumper to run with?

3 speeds i will bring,will be a modern F350 Hi-lift ,a vintage Blazing Blazer,Mountaineer and a couple of hibrid vintage 3 speeds.I can also bring my Isuzu Mu XC and a Pajero XC for Wild Willys top filming action.

Fingers crossed for fair weather i`m well looking forward to a good run with a chance of my cars being filmed(big thumbs up smillie)

There is usually a tea/snack van there too.

I'm still hoping to make it along to this meet, although it's a fair trip. The Blazer went to it's first bash, with the Clumber Crew, at the weekend, and seemed reliable. Even when half submerged in muddy water!!

Looks like a slight chance of snow this Sunday at "The Flappits",woohoo!!! wrap up warm and take care driving folks,i hope this spurs you to try and make it ,rather than putting anyone off.

Well that was a bit of a flop,there were loads of phsyco kids on motor bikes hooning around,not to mention the chav 4x4 owners driving like the cars were stolen,admitedly entertaining to watch for 10 minutes but way to risky to run my precious RC`s.

A nice run out but the meeting was a washout.The flappits is an OK venue for midweek but looks like weekends are a no go(at your own risk) for RC.

Better venue for the next one me thinks

Appolgies for not turning up guys.

I did intend on turning up, but the risk of snow put me off the journey, as it would probably have been a 120 mile round trip for me, which in a Mk2 Escort, could have been a little dodgy! It's my daily driver, I don't own a modern car!

I'll keep an eye out for the next one, and hope for some better weather.

sorry guys for ressurecting the thread but if its the quarry im thinking of bradford council have now closed it to the motocross brigade so it should be free for a run round without the fear or having the rc`s squashed

i live on the samne road as the flappit they always ban the MX's and stuff they will be back and you can guarantee someone will be there on a quad, bike 4x4 there not allowed there really but they dont normally get told off, with the news it will be quieter. also anyone organizing a bash let me know the missus might let me out as its just up the road.
