Hi guys, am I right in thinking that the old Blackfoot is exactly the same as the old Monster Beetle but for the shell and tyres??

Furthermore is the King Blackfoot basically just an uprated version of the old Blackfoot?

Thanks ;)

Shocks too, the BF had air pogo sticks, the MB had CVA's

the very early monster beetles also had white shells, pretty sure the blackfoot wheels didnt have the gold plating aswell. Havn't got a clue about the new blackfoots, but the gearbox looks abit different to the monster beetle one. oh and the old blackfoot had a slightly longer front body mount i think, had one nip on the spruce(pulled all the bits off, turns out the complete spruce was worth alot of money ;) ) and it was longer than my standard monster beetle one.

As mentioned above,

monster beetle chassis has:

CVA shocks

Shorter front body post

Side facing read body posts

Rear skid plate and "advertising sign" ;)

Gold wheels

Spiked tyres

Metal support brace for steering servo

Ball bearings either side of the differential.

The King blackfoot shares very little with the original.

It's based around the same A parts tree, in grey plastic instead of red.

The front suspension and front chassis assembly is made up of totally different parts.

The gearbox is totally different, apart from the pinion gear.

The rear suspension uses conventional independent design instead of trailing arms.

Basically the A parts tree, pinion gear and a few misc screws, ball joints and bearings is all they have in common.

There is a truck in between the 2, called the super blackfoot, which shares a little more with the original, including nearly the same ford ranger shell.

Besides the shell and it mountings, the Monster Beetle got the afor mentioned yellow oil filled CVA shocks, gold plated wheels and spiked lug pattern tires. Additionally, the Beetle recieved a rear bumper/gearbox guard and a metal steering servo gaurd/support not found on the Blackfoot. The rear guard was likely added for appearances more than anything as a way of covering the gapping hole in the back of the beetle body (as the Monster Beetle shell was mostly a carry-over from the Sand Scorcher which actually used this hole).

The Blackfoot was improved upon the in the following Super Blackfoot and King Blackfoot versions while still using the basic ORV space frame chassis which actually dates back to the Subaru Brat. The current Blackfoot Xtreme shares nothing chassis-wise with its earlier namesakes.
