Remote Control For 1/16 Sherman Tank

The Full-Option Sherman tank can use both 2ch and 4ch controller. This is the radio that I use for my tanks - Futaba 4YF http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...XEFJ4**&P=0. Make sure you choose a surface freq.

As above. Also the Futaba Attack T4VWD. I have modified mine with main gun and machine gun "fire" buttons.

"Skysport" is a bit misleading. Make sure that whatever you get is on a "Surface" frequency for your country.

I second the Futaba 4YF, I have 2 of them. Very simple and inexpensive too.

Just make sure your radio and crystals say FM75 for ground use. 72 is considered the air frequency.

I am getting a Sherman soon and I wanted to know how easy is it to fit the four channel receiver to the tank.

As long as it's the full option tank kit it's no different than the other Tamiya tanks. Just follow the manual, step by step and if you run into any problems just ask away.

I got the Sherman this afternoon via parcel force and I am going to set it up the same way as I set up my Jagdpanther so that the drive and steering is on the right stick and the turret and gun is on the left stick

I said in an earlier post that it was a kit but it is not it has been built and is second hand. with this in mind I am going to replace the tracks and sprockets with T66 type from impact and replace the bushes in the road wheels with ball races and replace the idler mount as well, again with the impact item, I am also looking at freeing up the return rollers as the are jammed tight and do not run as the should. I may also replace these with impact return rollers as well if the dismantling process damages them

I am finishing up my second as a M4A1E8 I started last year and took a 8 month break on it. It should look similar to this one, only I'll retain the fender extensions along with T-84 tracks and the early sprocket design.

I have finished putting the tank back together after changing the tracks and sprockets also change the idler mounts and ball raced the road wheels

I will have to put some American stars and unit No.s on it and also think of a name to call it and so on
