Is Yout Wife/partner Into Rc?

Recommended Posts

Oh yes, Erica (MadMini) loves her Mardave racing but is also addicted to collecting Tamiya Lorries, running her other cars (shes up to about 15 cars now) not bad for someone up until a little over 3 years ago had never seen an RC car. In some ways its a good thing I dont get moaned at about the number of cars I have but on other hand if I turn up with a new car I get asked..

"Is that mine"

I answer no

"So wheres mine"

So this hobby is now costing me twice as much as it did before she got into it.

:lol::) TC quote of the year for me! OWNED!!!:P

If I get one more RC, my wife will quarter me, and stuff me in the RC wall! But I am not 100% sure, but I don't think she is into RC. However, she does know the old 3spds are a real piece of engineering.

Yeah, I think my Mrs was quietly impressed by the shinyness, and engineering prowess of my Blazing Blazer. She was surprised at the weight of it as well.

Luckily for me, she hasn't noticed the puddle of oil under it yet, where it's leaked all over the book case!!!!!

Er, no.

x2 ;)

Luckily her profession involves expensive photography equipment and computer software, so an occasional r/c purchase is tolerated but not understood. My kids get it though!!

Well i must admit my wife dont mind at all.

She has a Tommy q steer frog and would like the real 1/10 frog also the tamtech frog and a vw beetle to go with her collection of beetls.

She also has a trophy winning nissan tiida show car so she likes her cars the only thing she dont like is when i want to bye a car when the money is tight.

Cheers

I wonder if my huge collection of RCs has something to do with my inability to keep a girlfriend..?

:P:)

That might have something to do with it. Mine hated RC so much, she decided to leave.

Here's how it went down...

<her> "All you care about are those *** toys!"

<me> "Thats not true! I far prefer my 1:1"

<her head> ***KABOOM*!!!

My Mrs at first regreted buying me a re issue Hornet last year. It didn't help when everywhere we went so did the RC cars and seeing as i was the one controlling the car, she had to be the one filming or taking pics. I'm thinking that may have been the reason why she started to say "when's it my turn?" and then that was it...... she's was hooked!!!!

Now we have 3 running and 3 on build ( Monster Beetle x2, Mardave Meteor, TTO1 Lipo Brushless, Frog, Hornet) , she's still yet to try her hand at construction but i'm thinking of buying her a TTO1 for Christmas. We race against each other at weekends on car parks and she loves night racing with glow sticks strapped to the buggies! I'm building her a hybrid Monster Beetle and she's got full say on the body design spray job so expect something trippy! And what they say about lady drivers having less accidents seems to be true.... Only bumps she has is when she's trying to run me off the road heading for the finish line!

nope mine hates it because if i'm tinkering on the cars after I spend time with my son (usually at night) she gets no sex that night :) Not a happy woman.

As far as the guys who think R/C has ruined their dating chances...... uh put the toys away. It is almost as bad as being a star wars toy collector and having dolls in your bed room lol. Girls don't go for that :P People are so strange when you think about it.

I went upstairs the other night, and saw something underneath the Blazing Blazer.... bless her, she had found it a little drip tray! What a star :)

I had a strange one a few years back, with an ex, conversation went like this, about my Mk1 Escort RS2000 replica;

"You think more of that car than you do of me".

"Do I"?

"Either that ****** car goes, or I do"

"Bye then"

I never did see, or hear from her again after that!

For some unknown reason, women don't seem to like bits of metal and oil scattered across the dining room table in the morning!?

Never did understand them myself.
