Grasshopper, Hornet, Pumpkin & Lunchbox all use 9x 1150 & 1x 850 bearings B)

Edit: Frog & Brat both use 12x 1150 bearings, 4 of which are supplied in the kit, so they only need 8.

Pajero MTW takes 3x 850, 2x 1510, 2x 1260 & 9x 1150.

Edit (again): TL01 + derivates & the Baja Champ take 24 1150 bearings.

Going back to some other questions earlier in the thread - I really expect goods to be dispatched the working day after I order them, and arrive the day after that for couriered parcels, 2 days for 1st class post, 3 days for 2nd class & Parcelforce, unless it's really cheap postage - it often isn't - I resent packing full whack for postage, top end retail prices for boxes & packing materials, time taken to pick, have a fag & then pack the goods, and a margin on top, only to have retailers sit on my order for a week before sending it.

If you ever decide to stock paints, please don't do what Hannants, Fusion Hobbies & (today) Time Tunnel Models have done to me - claim they have the paint in stock, then fail to deliver it & the only explanation given is a refund & an "out of stock" message. Badwords

Thanks Jonny! I def will be finding the bearing info a saviour! Also thanks for your service expectations. :o

Last time I looked, they were giving them away by the gross, about 14 a set including all discounts for pro forma payment etc.

Nice to see you here, James, btw :-) Checking out the future competition?

Paul.

Thanks Loaded and Terry. Spoke with Hob Co and they said that they do supply acoms. However, for acoms servos other retailers are probably sourcing somewhere else to be able to sell at the prices they do! So am still on the search for a competitive servo supplier.

Have been busy with the search engine optimisation. A bit of a black art! Am half way through the 1st book (of 2) and am managing to get some encouraging results so far. :P

Should be receiving my 1st stock order this week.

Hope everyone had a good christmas. Can't believe 2009 is here already...!

If you order 144 units, you will get the price down to less than 15 per unit. If you split them then, there will be plenty of margin. Don't forget also that when you sell 'deals' with ESCs, the second servo isn't needed, so you can sell that later too, so long as everyone knows what they are getting.

I am getting closer to being ready to open soon, and wondered if anyone wanted to write a review on a tamiya model on my site?

We have a reviews section with the idea of supplying 'customer to customer' info about each model, although I have a few models, I would rather customers could read reviews and experiences from others rather than just me!

If anyone is interested my site is www.rcmonster.co.uk to write a review go to the model (you will have to register 1st) you want to write about and you will see a 'write a review on this product' in the top right corner under a keyboard icon. There is a word limit of around 180 words. If you submit a review it will not appear straight away. Obviously it gets 'filtered' 1st, but I won't go changing what you write about your experiences.

I have already written a review on my pumpkin (1st love!) and found it a fun experience. So anymore pumpkin or other tamiya reviewers out there????? :)

Would love to know your experiences!

Thanks

ps got my 1st lot of stock, really exciting, I have to keep telling myself that it is just 'Stock' or 'Units' not fun...! B)

The Grasshopper doesn't state if it comes with an ESC. I haven't checked all models. If you offer it with an ESC (which I imagine you do, as you source from the UK disty) then it would be a good idea to offer a discount (say 10) for supply without an ESC.

Also, when someone buys with an ESC and radio gear, they only need one servo.

Whatever words of encouragement people may give, however sincere they may seem, remember one thing : they want it cheap.

Each item you can sell separately as spares later on with a margin too.

All the best, P.

To paraphrase NWA, "to be a Tamiya dealer you must qualify - don't get high on your own supply" :):)

have you thought about Ino-lab and Bluebird servos?

Posted
Hi Matisse...tell me more! :)

two new brands of servos from the far east, bluebird have been around in the heli/plane world for a while now, ansmann import them.

Ino-lab are from korea, imported via the flightpower/trakpower distributors,

given that most of the wierd branded electronice are made at thye same factorys as the branded stuff, you can often get a bargain. case in point the EZ-run motors which are the World Champ winning Speed Passion line rebadged by the manufacterer, hobbywing.

If you can find them, tower pro servos are very good for the price. i think rcartf import them, could be wrong though.

hope this helps

Hi Matisse,

Thanks for the info! I have an account with Ansmann so I will see what their new 09 list reveals.

I would also like to say that the store is now open for business! I want to say thanks to everyone for their input and support in helping me get it running.

I will be looking to add more products over time based on the success of the store.

I hope I can serve you!

Hi Chris, I think that same question to myself every day...! No other businesses yet.

Hi all,

MadAx kindly wrote me an article 'Beginners Guide to RC'. I have put it on the site under Useful RC Links. Are there any other articles you would like to see? Or do you think you would like to write one?

If so, successful applicants will be rewarded by a Tamiya model of their choice at cost. :)

Also I have added a bashing site section where people can share locations of good bashing sites that they know. If you are happy to share please check add a location:

Have a great weekend
