Marc Rheinard, Team Tamiya, Speed Passion, LRP and the TRF416-WE are now the current on-road world champions. Marc takes this title for the second time (the only person to do so). Looks like the 416-WE will be a hot commodity....

And what a fantastic race! Go Tamiya:

Masami finished third.

Thanks. fixed

2002 Worlds- watch Surikarn pass Baker and Masami from 3rd position to 1st in just 4 seconds into the race. The BEST pass in IFMAR TC history IMO..

Nothing will beat F1 in Brazil 2008 though!! :(

I have been told, I must find the whole race. Well, my half brother Lewis won the Drivers championship so it's all good!!

WOW!! These guys are good, very good. I have never seen a RC race before(only booted around in my local public track converted from a small roller blade ring to a RC track.). The hand /eye co-ordination and reflexes are just amazing. Is a huge track, by my standard, and the front runners lapped some of the other runners, and I to qualify in the finals all participants must be pretty good but to be able to lapped some of the other drivers must have some real talent.

Have you ever seen a ROAR/IFMAR race like this live? I have seen a few and these RACERS are the BEST of the BEST in the world literally... In terms of guys getting lapped, once you have front runners going for a Championship you let them pass and stay out of the way-That's RACING!!

Wow, some incredible clean driving, and a great battle between 1st and 2nd. Marc Rheinard is a freak. It always amazes me how few crashes there are in races at that level.

What specific ESC/motors are they using at that class of racing?

Marc Rheinard uses the LRP Brushless Sphere TC-spec ESC and Speed passions motors. I think it's 4.5T for 6-cell and 3.5T for 5-cell. I'm not sure about that part though. I believe the control tire was Muchmore Racing's "Sweep". Low cost and abundant supply is making it a very popular "control" tire...

I call that good sportsmanship. Unlike Michael Schmacher(spel) from the F1, where on several occassions he either deliberately not let the other racer through or try to take the other guy out. Good thing each time he got nailed. Michael is a good driver but his sportsmanship is less than desirable.

How often does schumaker get lapped? We cant compare toy car racing to F1.
