i can only speak for the past, i haven't raced in over ten years but for off road my vote goes to the Jr-x2. that car revolutionized 10th scale off road racing.

i remember the first time i raced against one, my heavily modified rc10 was no contest for it. i bought my first jrx2 that day. man do i wish i still had it.

i raced alot of dirt oval and my rc10 with the big boys toys sprint car kit was my favorite. that was one fast car. the original drifters lol.

My favourite has to be my Tamiya TRF415-MSX for how easy it is to drive at a consistent pace. Last race meeting I beat a much faster Xray and Cyclone, just because of how easy it is to drive.

I really really like my Tamtechgear Porsche 934 with mid powered brushless motor and lipo, being RWD it hangs the back end out real nice just like the real thing and looks superb with fine detail and reversed body mounts,i can see why they are so popular in the far east.

But the truth is, i don`t have a favorite, they all have something different to offer.

My friend was having major traction issues with brushless. What kind of rear tires do you use?

Just the soft slicks on the rear and kit on the front, this causes plenty of understeer but when you get used to it and learn how to be more restrained with the power you can go to soft fronts too,you do have to be carefull with the power though and it is now quite twitchy, great fun.

The only other thing i did was add oil filled damper,i have tryed them all and the cheap plastic hop up ones from Tamiya work fine,if a tad fiddly to build.

Oh and i fitted lights

I've love my Tamiya EVO III and TRF 415MSX although getting spare parts is a issue

Currently run the T1 05 Xray. These cars seem to be near bullit proof. (Also have issues with the rear shocks leaking/breaking)

Also love the Xpress 4wd Mini's (Have 3 now lol), although running Lipo they seem to eat driveshafts and easily get punted off by the touring cars

With the X-Ray shocks, It is possible to squeeze an extra "O" ring into the bottom of the shock, where the shock shaft passes through. You will need very strong hands to get the lower shock cap back on, but I managed it with my FK04, and it did stop them leaking. It's the only complaint I have with the X-Ray cars, as the quality, and durability is sublime. Why oh why they still make leaky shocks five years on is beyond me........ Lots of racers I used to know used to fit Tamiya TRF dampers in their place. The alloy upgrade damper cylinders for the X-Ray can be a good upgrade as well, as I have known the piston to go tight, when it passes past where the ride height adjuster collar is on the outside, with the plastic shock bodies. Again, why do they supply plastic shockers on such high end kits?? B) Don't get me wrong, if I was to buy another tourer, it would probably be an X-Ray :)
