Vintage , vintage ,vintage !!

I should have been a gardner - I love hedging; TAKE BOTH!

But seriously, I would take the modern. I love vintage stuff, but the cost and scarcity of spares and a little bit of 'fraidy-cat-ism would probably mean the vintage would sit on the shelf more than the modern.

With your user name, the choice is obvious, really..... trade them both for a Maxima!!!

lol...

Rough Rider only because I have a 501X

Taliesin, you have a point there... I'm not sure though what I would take... RR and risk that I need hard to find spares sometime (although I have a car in spares somewhere in a box) or the 501X, which is ugly as sin, but probably handles really neat.

I think it would be the RR for me, but that's only because I have SRB spares... It would also be very interesting to own a true TRF car sometime, especially because I was already amazed about the build quality of a TA02 and a TB01 ...

My less then friendly and blunt answer is... you already choose both so why even bother asking :P But if one must choose between the two, than it really boils down to your objectives. Say if you are into running and performance oriented with an eye for maintenance cost, no doubt the 501X is the right choice. On the other hand if you are into collecting / shelve queen is your flavour than RR is the choice.

Or if you really want the 501X but the RR is such a good deal than buy the RR turn around and sell it for a profit and buy the 501X with change lift over.

In the end you got all the angles covered, heads I win tails you loose. :)

Rough Rider hands down even for a runner (needs my diff mod :P ). The only 501X I seen run local lasted less than 15 minutes with it's exposed belts, puts me off the new belt drive buggys. Sealed gearbox wins it for me.

Hi Alex

I agree,i probably would if i did'nt have one!

Horses for courses I guess!

Love running my vintage stuff, especially my Sand Scorcher, and Super Champ, but I have an Associated B4, for when I feel the need for speed :) Always worth having a "Modern" kicking about, in case the bash you're at gets a little rough! :P

I would go with the Rough Rider due to its classic looks, vintage status and rarity but I would'nt run it as hard as my later models.

Personally I would have the 501X. I have no love for those old buggies. You could probably make more than your money back parting it out though...

I would trade them both for a Blazing Blazer!

As I already have a Sand Scorcher I would be more curious of the TRF501X (yes, I drive my cars) and would therefore rather pick the latter in this case.
