Wow, what trouble I had finding a Hotshot in stock. Time Tunnel, Fusion, Models in Motion plus a host of others are all sold out. I was panicing as I needed to have one before next week. Lo and behold after all the searching on the net I found one....the LAST one in stock at my LHS, Modelzone and only for a fiver more than I would pay on the net.

Seems like the 'Shot (and other re-re's maybe?) are proving popular over Xmas. Has anyone else had trouble getting a kit at the last minute before this Xmas when they thought it would be no trouble at all?

Hotshot re-re's been out year & half now... there's still some kicking around?

I thought it was all sold out even by early 2008 or did Tamiya let loose another batch.

I think that in the UK people will be clambering for the Hotshot because the distributor in the UK (perhaps other EU disties also) had to freeze the price for the year and the Dollar and Yen have strengthened considerably against the Sterling. With the Boomerang about 10% more expensive and in some people's eyes less desirable, people are going to get the Hotshot sold out first, as the Boomerang would have probably been a cheaper model if it had been issued with the Dollar and YEN in the same position as they were when the Hotshot was issued.

Interesting that you should say that as I spoke to the guy at Models in Motion this morning who are offering the Boomerang at 91 on pre-order. When I asked him if he expected the actual price to be higher he said no, he speaks with his Tamiya rep every day and they fully expect the Boomer to sell at around the 90 mark.
