Henry likes it, but he still says i should of gone for red!

Due to my bad masking skills some paint is not where it is supposed to be, nothing a little thinner on a cotton bud will not sort.

shell fully painted. i must admit that at the moment i do not like it that much. i think the stickers will make it a lot better.

WOW thats quite nice. A green pinstripe bettwen the 2 colours would make it even nicer but I think the decals will make up for it.

nice build, i put mine together christmas evening, finished it the following morning.

i have the body cut, but not painted, and i screwed up cutting the wing. anyone have a frog wing? lol

the last time i built a frog based car was back in 89 when i got a blackfoot. i forgot how much of a pain the gear box was. lol

it's suprising how well the front suspension works, not as bouncy as i thought it would be.

It is done! decals were easy because i used the hot soapy water trick. yes i know the window is wrong but i like it like that. enough talk, on to the pics

Yes the brat uses the same chassis as the frog. i was not too sure on the blue myself until the decals went on. now i think it looks stunning.

one thing i have noticed about this chassis is that the turning circle is amazing. it can almost turn around in its own length!

Looks good! Just need to see some action pics now! Should be plenty quick with the ST motor....!

oh yeah, it goes like stink with a rocket up its rear end!

i am using the high speed gear set as well. however its so nice i cant bring myself to get it muddy.

Good for you dude, that Frog looks really good.

Mine is running the high ratio gear set on a ST as well. Mine flies along as well! One thing I did do on mine with the rear wheels and tyres is fit rear tyre inserts. Normal off the peg buggy ones fit a treat, and on mine I found that they stopped the rear end bouncing a little, and helped with rear end traction a little.

I always said that I wouldn't get mine muddy, then i took it along to a Clumber Meet, got a little carried away, and came home with a brown Frog!

yeah i want foam for the rear tires, but i did not know which ones will fit. thanks for the buggy foam tip.

i will probably get mine dirty at some point, not just yet though!

Whats the hot soapy water trick for us newbies please.

The hot soapy water trick is to put the sticker into (you guessed it) hot mildly soapy water for about 10 seconds. Then you can slide them around on the shell for about 10 seconds before they stick at all. Then use a hair drier to heat the decal up (not too much mind) and squeeze out the water from under the sticker with some kitchen roll. It then sets as it would normally when the water dries.

The inserts I have been using are Schumacer buggy rears, either hard or medium grade. They only cost about 3 or 4 quid a pair, and they stop the rear tyres acting like mini space hoppers :) Quite simple to fit; fit insert inside the tyre, then force the centre part of the wheel back in, then pull the sidewall of the tyre outwards, to make sure that the insert is centralised, and not bunched up anywhere. Then fit the outer rims back on, and your done!

Sadly I know it will not be quite that simple. I could not put them on without a insert in them :)

Well you guys wanted a action pic, here it is. Now clean it and get it back on the self quick!

Just kidding, this thing will be run but mostly on tarmac. Better order some more tires!

Just a few essential upgrades, sport tuned motor, full ball bearings, and a rather nice futaba ball raced servo.

half a chassis.....

DSC01420.jpg

and a whole one (well almost!)

DSC01421.jpg

That will probably be it for today as the whole family will be a bit busy.

..I thinkI've just found my answer to upgrade options. Great thread, a pristine Frog!! :(
