Nice looking rig and I like the lights!

Sport tuned motors are a nice upgrade - not expensive, modest but noticeable power increase, still not a battery pig.

thanks for the reply and the compliment, i was looking at the super stock bz motor, but wasn't sure how it would preform, and would i be able to use the 20t pinon?

I think the gearbox would handle the motor okay. Not sure about the gear choice. Is 20t stock for the pinion on the Blackfoot extreme?

You could try it and just see if the motor / esc gets really hot. If so, you probably need a different pinion.

I run a Superstock BZ with an Mtronics 20T ESC and the 20T pinon, std Acoms servo, GPM shocks, usually running a 4500 battery but sometimes lower. Shocks are a bit soft but it's great on flattish gravel/dirt. Plenty of dust thrown up from a standing start!

Lost one of the step screws from the front knuckle, wondered why the wheel was at a funny angle...

Hi all this threads handy as ive just got a blackfoot extreme for christmas, already ballraced and put oil shocks, other than that stock, im going for a sport tuned as there cheap and give a nice improvement in speed, im running 3700mah nimh's so should be good. are there any longer battery holders so i can use some of my 8.4v packs, if not tie raps might have to used.

I saw a mod someone did where they drilled extra holes that allowed the battery retainer to be clipped on a bit farther out. This allowed them to run 7 cell packs. :)

No, the shocks on the back are a bit soft and they compress quite a bit under acceleration from a standing start. Might do with something a bit stiffer, not sure if the GPM shocks for the Wild Dagger chassis have stiffer springs as an option (someone feel free to tell me if they do...). Reckon you'd need to fashion some sort of wheelie bar anyway?

Super Stock BZ and 20T pinion is a great mod for these - it was the first thing I did to my Blackfoot Extreme - the difference over stock is amazing :D

I can also vouch for longer shock towers and 4" shocks - they add more ground clearance and give better handling, although you might need to fit CVDs if you're running full extension - the dogbones sometimes pop out.

Also consider using a lexan shell - the ABS shell adds a lot of weight to the top of the truck, making it easier to roll over.

Very cool truck, I noticed you live in AZ. My motor of choice is the Trinity 27T Cobalt Monster 'TWEAKED' - more torque than the 23T Tamiya motors! I ran this motor in my King Cab and it was pulling wheelies with the 101BK and 4200's. You could find these motors everywhere because they are great race motors for the stock touring car class, I run these motors in my EVO IV.
