I have just purchased one of these from ebay but after running the TT-01 for a few years am a bit tired of the Subaru shell.I have done them all that I can get hold of so would like to do a different rally shell like these:

but am unsure of what will fit, anybody know as I don't want to spend a wage on shells that won't fit.Does anyone know for sure.I have read about changing the rear arms to allow adjustable wheel base so am really lost now.

Every standard 190mm wide body made by any manufacturer will fit straight on, you don't have to stick with Tamiya bodies.

The only ones that won't fit on are bodies by Tamiya made for the TA05-IFS, such as the ARTA Garaiya. These are obvious as they have a very low front end, looking at your preferences you are unlikely to choose one of those.

I definately want a Tamiya shell & width isn't the problem its wheel base. Not all chassis of the shells I've picked are the same wheel base are they?

What I mean is this.

Lancia fits:TT-01 TB-01 TA-04

Focus 03: TT-01 TA-04

Focus 01: TB-01

Evo 6: TB-01 TL-01 TA-03F TL-03R

Evo 7: TB-01 TL-01 TA-03F TL-03R

So knowing that the long wheel base fits a TT-01 does it also meen I can fit TB-01,TA-04 as they fit the Lancia & Focus 03 which are TT-01 & as I can fit Tb-01 I can then have both Mitsubishis & the 01 focus too.

Does that make sense to anyone?

All the shells you mentioned have the standard touring car wheelbase (258/260mm) so they will fit any 190mm touring car chassis.

There's one small issue; body posts. Kit supplied bodies have the holes already drilled so you will need body posts that will fit.

There are two types for the front; 'above' the wheels (most tamiya touring cars) and in front of the wheels, most of the times mounted on the front bumper (TB02 for example).

For the rear you have quite a lot of types, but most chassis' have the appropriate body posts available for the rear.

Any of those bodies you listed will fit the DF03ra. You just have to switch the rear arms around to get 257mm wheelbase.

If you don't mind getting something other than Tamiya, this body by ABC Hobby is just screaming to be put on a DF-03RA.

EVO III

Pretty much all standard wheelbase tamiya shells will fit, since they all come with same mounting holes. Tamiya chassis usually comes with 2 types of rear mouting pegs. Standard, meaning, no short wheelbase, super low shells for IFS chassis. You can try 190mm shells from other companies, but you have to drill your own mounting holes and you will need some offset wheels. Tamiya chassis are usually 185mm and doesnt fill the wheel wells. Alot of aftermarket japanese shells seem to have 260mm wheelbase as well. Tamiya shells are much more detailed and mounting holes make your life easier.

The stock mounting points on the DF-03RA were identical to that on my TA-05IFSR

That wasnt my point. Try mounting an IFS shell on your df03. It's way too shallow. Short wheelbase shells have same mounting points too, but the wheelbase does not fit.

Well actually, I remember that someone told me he used an NSX body for Rallying... And he's right - too many of them, they should be smashed :)

Anyway - I think it's pretty logic if you look at bodies like the Ford Focus and then look at a body like the Arta Garaiya that you know the Arta Garaiya won't fit (or will fit on the car, but way too high up) :P
