Hi, I seem to have snapped the little fiddly axle springs and I've read the 3rd shock solves the problem. The problem is which shock and spring do I use and where do I get it? Thanks

Them springs don't last long, and are quite expensive to buy for what they are!, Perhaps greaseing them would prolong their life,

Here's a link that may help you

Good luck!!

E2A: Thanks TA-Mark, very informative!, The reason I suggested grease is because of the location of the springs and the water that can get in there, but yours is a much better solution, Thanks

Greasing the springs does not help. If they snap, you have over tightened the screw that secures them. The coil MUST be able to move freely on the screw thread or it will pinch the last coil and snap. I've never broken one and have a MambaMax slamming on them in both a Lunchbox and a Grasshopper with Hornet rear suspension.

Really Tamiya have used the wrong screw here. If they had a stepped screw with a big head it would not be possible to over-tighten and it would be obvious to the builder the stepped screw shank is also going to become a shaft and not just a fastener.

I believe you are asking which 3rd shock to buy. This is the one I used:

I also picked up these for the rear shocks:

It absolutely changed the rear handling. Those axle springs are real weak. I had over tightened mine and broke them by my 5th run. Converting the entire back end to CVA with the 3rd is the way to go.
