TA-Mark 195 Posted January 6, 2009 The fibreglass fly mesh mod on my BIL's DI: Note the heatsink bars backwards. They actually get some air out there.

Butler 338 Posted January 6, 2009 I take it the EZRun doesn't have a thermal cut out then.

taliesin 260 Posted January 7, 2009 I take it the EZRun doesn't have a thermal cut out then. They do ... but they call it the ESC.
highflyer 73 Posted January 7, 2009 Me too, but didnt want it to be me haha This should make you feel better: A couple of years ago I let a few 4WD racers test my 501X after the A-main (5 min. race), around 10 minutes later the buggy stopped and smoke came out.. The LRP Sphere was fryed. I sent it back to AE headquarters and got a new Sphere in 2 weeks. Waurantees rule
HereBeMonsters 9 Posted January 7, 2009 Have you got any pictures of the melting? It might just be the fan/heatsink or even the glue and the ESC itself is ok?
bugjammer 2 Posted January 7, 2009 My 9T came with Tamiya connectors and was easy to pop together, I have one of mine in a Mardave Cobra in which ive used pinions ranging from a 10 to a 22 :-) and there wasnt any real change in heat it just kept gettting faster lol I did have to turn up the punch a bit though as some was lost as the gearing went up
matisse 1581 Posted January 7, 2009 It does but it's 95 degrees celcius which is stupid high! i thought you could set the level of thermal cutoff? or is it just you can turn it on or off?
wingate 0 Posted January 11, 2009 Was this a 35a or 60a ESC?
Butler 338 Posted January 12, 2009 35a Have you decided what to do next? If you buy a complete kit to replace I am looking out for just a 9t motor only.
ArancioC5 0 Posted January 13, 2009 If any one remembers my former df03, I used mesh on the sides and center scoop on my keen hawk body which would work for your DI body
