Having ran my Lunchbox for a week or two it's already showing signs of wear and tear. Just wondered what sort of damage you guys do to your buggies/trucks shell and if you ever replace them, particularly your bashers?

Love to see some pics too.

My best one of last year was tearing the whole rear end off my pumpkins body shell:

It happened after a small bit of radio interference sent it from crawling pace to full throttle in 1 go. Glitches and brushless power don't mix :)

All fixed now with super glue, as I don't want to fit a new shell - its practically the only bit of the original truck left :)

With a complete basher, I use a lexan shell, which usually bounces back into shape.

At the other end of the scale, after my dad crashed my sand scorcher into a wooden post, I restored the entire body shell.

All depends how "unused" you want the truck too look! B)

nothing really beat up here. its in relatively good shape except for the shell and the rims. the rear rims are slowly being pealed away from cornering at 40MPH and the shell has been through almost everything. at the moment i cannot find my smashed up front end pictures (probably on my desktop which is currently being rebuilt) although this one does not have a front posts for the shell. part of the damages from hitting the flagger's stand at 40MPG when racing.

Edit: here the pic. almost forgot it. ;)

Remember that LunchBox is less than two months old! It had two cans of Tamiya TS paint on it, four coats of lacquer...

Repaired with staples!

I managed to smash the front-end of my Fox when it decided to hit the curb at high speed!

I temporarily fixed it, but now have a chassis to re-build it!

Crumbs! Are you going to keep your Lunchie like that/repair it or get a new shell? Think mine is pretty tame in comparison!

I do have a spare shell I could spray up, but I've got almost enough parts to create a whole spare truck now. Might complete the set, pair it with some radio gear and give it to my little cousin to build with his dad...

Sorry, HbM, you might have staples, but I have the most intense single point of impact damage to a mini (so far in this thread)... :D

That's just a squashed headlight! Mine got stepped on once by a marshall, which broke the whole front left suspension, driveshafts and diff. The servo mount was broken in a crash into the only lamp-post in a massive car park, when I was testing out a 15T motor in it. That also made one of the wheels fall off and speed away, never to be seen again.

My severe lack of driving skill will never be bettered! :D

i think i got you beat. duct tape should do though. my duratrax currently has the left front shock zip tied on, the shock tower is also zip tied together, the right swing arm was shattered and the bumper was severed, all 2cm of it. i finally found a camera, my sister had both cameras, so i can take a pic of the shock tower and zip ties but i cannot find the pic i had of the shattered swing arm. might be on a floppy some where since i had a floppy digital camera at the time.

That picture always fools me in to thinking its a new build until I notice the odd camber........

If you think thats bad just look at all my lexan body shells...one celica grb held togeather with its own weight in hot glue and aluminium drinks cans......
