What Offset?

Recommended Posts

I have a tt-01 chassis and want to put a 200mm body onto it. What exactly do I need to bring the wheels out flush with the body so it looks right???

Thanks guys, Dan

Whats the best offset to go for to have the wheels sitting flush with the body?

This is a TL-01 fitted with an HPI 1965 Shelby GT350 200mm body. The wheels are HPI 9mm offset. Fits beautifully.

And it looks like I need to do a little dusting

Thank you. My father was a Production Designer/Model Builder at Disney for 35 years. He taught me a thing or two. One of these days I'll construct a light box and post some professional quality photos.

Thats great, but I am struggling to find suitable hex spacers, can anybody point me in the right direction?

You can make a Tamiya chassis wider using TG10 axles (part number 50808) which means you need 12mm thick hex drives. The hex drives are sometimes included in various kits, but if you don't have any then the cheapest way of getting hold of them is the Tamiya TL01/M03 rear uprights, part number 53345. This setup will add 12mm to the width of your chassis.
