Boomerang Pre-order Price (uk)

I believe you could preorder a Boomerang at Modelsinmotion.co.uk for 92ish, that is until I looked today. Its gone up to an astonishing 144.99!!!!! Unsure if they are still honouring orders that have already been taken.

Just had a quick look at a few other UK model shops and they all seem to be selling them around this price.

Gulp, I won't be buying one of them then.

Thanks to the pound dropping like a stone compared to the dollar expect the price of every kit and part from every manufacturer to shoot up. It's already got to the stage where you find parts are cheaper in the UK where a few weeks ago it would be a no brainer to buy from Hong Kong or the US in dollars.

Looks like all Tamiya kits have gone up

Modelsport had the Scania kit at 185 it's now 240

The Wild Willy 2 from Fusion Hobbies was down from 105 to 100 just before Xmas - bit less with the Tamiya Club members discount.

Now it's up to 130!

Right now it can work out cheaper to buy them in the UK thanks to the strong dollar. Just been looking at a kit for someone, the UK prices work out cheaper than the Hong Kong prices before postage is added to the Hong Kong kit

I recently got stung with the weak pound...... Ordered a Futaba 40MHZ reciever, that cost 35 pounds about 8 months ago, got hit for 50! OUCH!

Think I'm gonna try a few second hand ones.....Caveat Emptor perhaps????

Just spotted the prices. Some stores still have stock of some models at the old prices so I have taken the opportunity of adding a Hot Shot (116)and Hornet 63 (without ESC) to the stable. Was all set to buy the Boomy to but not at the prices they are now, my last NIB original Boomerang was a 200 BIN, so it make no sense to pay the current prices. Just need to find a cheap Brat to round it off.
