Well, it has happened. And, since he was a contributor to Radio Control Car Action in the days of the Tamiya Blackfoot, Monster Beetle and other great Tamiya memories, I thought we could take a moment for him.

Some of his reviews I remember reading as a young lad and always wanted a Blackfoot after reading his review. I've actualy begun to "hit Ebay" for some of those very same RCCA Issues too. Wild, zany and always interesting he was. RIP Mr Chianelli and thanks for all your contributions to the RC World.

I remember reading his write ups for RCCA Mag. (always non-critical or put short comings of the RC in a non-harsh way). He left RCCA and had his own RC show featured by the Discovery Channels.

I am surprise and sad to learn that he is no longer with us, he wasn't that old, RIP.

Oh man. This makes me feel old. I remember the Blackfoot article...reading it over and over. Love the crazy hair and visor, animal print clothes and wacky sunglasses. He will surely be missed. Rest in peace, my friend.

Thanks BTMR.

When I was starting with this hobby. It was Chris C. writings' (back lot) that I always check whenever I buy my RCCA magazine issue. He make our hobby much more enjoyable. There is something with this guy that makes you read his articles more than once. His pages are just wholesome fun. When he parteed ways with the mag, it felt kinda different. It was never the same ever since.

RIP Chris.

RIP Chris.

When he left the first time, in 91, to tour with his band I felt the same. I only started buying it again when he came back.

RIP Chris Chianelli

RCCA "Backlot" was sometimes the only thing worth reading in some issues :D right after the Tower ads.

+1 I would read RCCA back to front just to read chris's backlot first....RIP Chris Chianelli
