Eastern Bashers are proud to present an Official meet at Snetterton Park RC Circuit, August Bank Holiday Monday 2009!

We are currently negotiating with the operators of Snetterton's purpose built RC track to host a private event - the track will be all ours, all day, for just 3 per person. 3 will be paid on the day to the Snetterton Staff.

Basically, all us TamiyaClub members, and other RC fans need to do is show enough interest and we'll be able to book the track.

This really will be an awesome event.

Any make of RC is welcome to the track for lots of fun racing and bashing (nitro running will be limited on track if lots of us show up though)

but the more the better - during the day we want to make this RC "conga" ...

... travel around the entire length of the track!!!

43 cars made that line up, which was less than an 8th of the track. In August we want to do better! ;)

Snetterton is a great place for any Tamiya Fan. The model shop is right next to the superb track, and they are full Tamiya stockists!

Parking is right next to the track. There is a pit lane, and an indoor facility with tables and power supplies to keep your cars and batteries going all day long.

We've been told BBQ's will also be alowed, so plenty of grub can be served up during the day.

Details of Snettertons Model Shop can be found HERE

Track details are HERE, and details on location can be found HERE

If your interested, just reply to this thread below. This thread will be updated with further details within the next few weeks!

UPDATE:

The track is booked up!

Camping is fine on the site.

Camping will be 5 per pitch per day, paid in the Model shop when you arrive.

The gates close 7.30 pm on Sunday night and open again 6 am Bank Holiday Monday morning.

As there is a Tamiya Race event on Sunday, we'd advise you to arrive Sunday afternoon to give the race guys time to finish.

Myself and a few others will be there on the Sunday to show everyone where to park up and pitch tents.

Keep watching this thread for more updates :)

Important Update:

The gates to Snetterton Park will be closing at 7.30 pm on the Sunday, if you are camping I strongly advise you leave plenty of time so you do not get locked out of the site. Myself and a few others will be at the track at 3 pm on Sunday to help out.

BBQ's and Beers are welcome on Sunday evening. Snetterton have asked me to keep BBQ's down to a minimum on the Monday due to smoke. Please keep any BBQ off of the grass as we don't want to damage the ground.

I'll add another thread containing this important information so that nobody misses it.

Count me in - i'll keep the date free. Due to distance I need to travel can I come down night before and camp near by or is it on day only?? Need to decide if the camper makes a journey or not LOL ... if not looks like the travellodge will need to be booked...

There is a motel/B&B http://www.brecklandlodge.co.uk/ a few miles away from Snetterton.

I would love to come down. But we could really only come if camping was available. Oh and if we are back from the honeymoon which has not been booked yet.

Mad Mini and I may be up for this meet, is there no camping on site? I know at other meets we had there in past we could.

I'll get back to you on camping. There is a Tamiya euro cup event on the saturday and sunday before the bank holiday monday, so that might limit camping possibilities (or not?)

I'll be back with an answer in a day or two :)

Thanks for all the interest so far guys!

I'm interested, but can't promise. It's a fair old trudge from the ghettoes of Bristol - I'm saving hard for a travelling holiday in September so I might not have enough cash to cover the fuel costs. However, since my holiday involves driving the old Primera to southern Spain, this might prove a good shake-down run!

PS any chance of the actual date in the thread title / first post? I've just had to search to find out when bank holiday Monday is

(according to my web-search, it's 31st Aug - but I have searched for holiday dates online before only to find they are incorrect!)

I'm up for it - Breckland Lodge is a good place to stay, and they do a very nice breakfast too. If there's enough interest, it might be good to have some organised class "races" throughout the day, as it's always good to see like cars running together in some organised chaos (the Willy and Pumpkin races spring to mind, always a good laugh).
