Hi all,

I just bought some parts for my lunchbox from E-bay but have received no feedback from the seller!,

Is he waiting for me to leave him feedback?

I was expecting my "star points" to have risen by now but nothing as yet , I have received goods but have not left feedback yet.

Most probably, yes. The seller is waiting for your feedback first before leaving feedback for you.

Check the sellers feedback rating date and time. If you see that he leaves feedback after he gets one from the buyer, then...that is the case.

Yup thats pretty standard among most sellers - although some are moving away from that now there is no way for them to leave negative feedback.

O.k thanks, 4wdmt and skip665, so if I leave negative feedback then the seller will leave no feedback for me!, and if I leave positive feedback he may increase my points, many thanks for your fast reply.

Are you talking about the colour of the star next to your feedback count, or the 5 star ratings? If it's the latter you're in for some disappointment - they're DSRs - detailed _seller_ ratings

I was talking about the number next to my username, you lost me with that DSR?, some sellers will not let you bid without the number being above a certain amount but that will not increase unless the seller leaves me feedback?

still a newbie to all this internet stuff so please excuse my ignorance, thanks for replying though Jonny Retro but you have confused me further!

I always send a message to the seller via Ebay when I recieve the item letting them know I have recieved the item letting them know it turned up in good order and was well packed I also say Iam about to leave them feedback and would appreciate it if they would do the same .I always get feedback that way, its just a nice prompt to the seller in case they forget .Hope this helps

If a seller sells a lot on ebay they don't sit down and answer every feedback each day. They use a computer program that automatically gives you feedback once it knows the buyer has left feedback.

Thanks Swarm, that's a good tip!, I may try that. and also thanks terry.sc, I am sober today and have a better understanding of whats going on thanks to all you guys!
