After selling my pajero to someone locally to me from tc - he asked me if I would take a look at his recently bought hilux that wasn't quite right...

Well there was a bearing loose in the gearbox, one axle was upside down, suspension needed tweaking, a few cracks needed glueing and I stuck on some painted 350 rims and rc4wd crsushers.

Then I got onto the bodywork - after removing some stickers (including a chevy one  ) I sprayed the bonnet and bed black. The body was plain plastic and he didn't want to spend a fortune - but it was pretty beaten up.

As he didn't want to spend a fortune I though I would have a go at weathering - serves him right for giving me free reign....

Done a bit more since the pics including a blackwash to calm down the orange, but camera not working now-

its looking good, so it was busted now its rusted lol.

i still think the whole white could do with a dirty wash to make it more well abused look and remove the nosram esc decals .

Great work! :D

I think to be authentic, I would chew the rear arches up a bit, with a pair of pliers, and then rust stain them, for that completed genuine Hi-Lux look!! A 1:1 Hi-Lux went past me yesterday, and the rear arches were held together with duct tape!

Its had a blackwash now - but my camera is flubbered!

The stickers left hide worse damage....

I would of gone further but I hadn't told the bloke I was doing it - when I do my clod crawler it will get the full works, dont worry

Paints used are tamiya pots, warhammer pots and tamiya weathering sticks.
