Sport-tuned Lifespan

I know there isn't a definite answer to this, but about how long do you find a Sport tuned motor lasts before there's a significant drop-off in performance? What's the longest any of you have owned/used one?

I've had pretty good luck with mine and I use them pretty hard in dirty offroad conditions. One has lasted with no significant drop off for about a year - in a dt-02 buggy. One lasted about 2 months and smoked - in a stadium thunder, but I ran it extensively in very fine, dry, powdery dirt and I think that killed it. Several others have lasted about 6-9 months with quite a lot of offroad use and I think they might be showing some signs of slowing up - at least one has started making some noise; it gets better w/ a drop of oil, but I think its diminishing. I've often thought maybe dirt tuned would suit my running style better, but I haven't tried them yet.

I have several touring cars that have gone almost 2 years and I'm still happy with the performance for parking lot bashing - granted, there isn't nearly as much dirt or sand or moisture, etc. getting to the motor.

Horribly unscientific, but there that's my .2 cents worth.
