Jock that spray you used looks like it's made for dinner plates. It looks like it left a thick coat on your body.

Addict, your clod body looks great.

I am a firm believer in Tamiya paints. the go on nice and thin and you can get really nice results. Here is a shot of my latest paint job

well thats my 3rd paint job in my whole life so im no expert on painting I tried to get others to paint my truck, but they commanded like 500 dollars just for one color to paint the whole thing so well I went on a budget (with 500 bucks I bought a NIB wild one) and sprayed it myself and I oversprayed the coat and yes its for dinnar plates I was at Micheals which is a arts and crafts store. paints is paint to me im not trying to enter competition with it.

Hey Joc, I would have only charged ya about 85.00 including return insured shipping!! who quoted you 500? well on second thought if you want to answer that email me the answer so i dont start any bickering or such. Anyways, the shell looks great, but honestly i would be kinda worried about the longevity of it. And also if by chance you have to repaint or do some touch up on it I would assume you will have some serious reaction. But on the other hand if it is a shelfer i suppose your safe. Oh and btw. I use ppg automotive paint base/clear. It would probably not be very cost effective for you to buy it only because it would be VERY excpensive. You would have to buy your primer/sealer plus hardener, then you would have to buy your color(only sold in pints and the colors go from 50.00 all the way to 700.00) Then you would have to buy your clear/hardener and reducer for the base and clear. Plus you need hvlp spray guns (50.00-600.00)The only reason that i paint my bodies with it is because my boss only charges me by the once. I can spray a body with about 7-8 oz's of material total. And just in case any of you are wondering what color costs 700.00 it is actually 1400.00 because the last time i checked you can only get it by the quart and it is the shifting colors. sorry for the long post folks [8)]

here is a couple more links to some of my bodies!!http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserimage.asp?t=n&id=img2700_26062004011855_1.jpg

yeah dude you have some cool paints jobs man they are very impressive I just dig the high gloss look. Oh, I wont say the name who quoted me the 500 dollar paint job for that jugg and he quoted me 350 just for the TLT. I thought he was joking at first, but I emailed him back about and was dead serious.

Agree with Jim, not only paints but anything from Tamiya is top quality (but also top price [B)]). I sold all my Revell paints and airbush and bought Tamiya airbrush and paints, also I use Tamiya cans whenever I can, except when I want to paint tones that don't exist from Tamiya, where I use automotive cans, which give a much larger variety of tones but are not so easy to use and don't give a similarly good finish, for example my 2 last weekend paint jobs: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=34421&id=16

Of course PPG automotive paint/clear is the high end choice, but only if you have that professional equipment, shame shipping of bodies to uS is so expensive and risky, otherwise I would send my bodies to Addict Again [:(]

Cheers
