I am in the process of completing my first Tamiya Car for 20 something years (Frog), and have been told about the Novarossi Race Track near Wickford. Apparently it offers all day track use for 10 a day, 15 with a table and charger facilities. Just wondered if anybody else has experience of this track? Or any other places near Romford?

Thanks

The track is good, but it's not really suitable for your Frog - it's a huge track and is mainly used for nitro cars, 1/8th scale. I've been there a few times for playing around with my Savage and Rush EVO; the Savage tends to wallow around the track, rolling at every other corner, the Rush suits it a little bit better. I'd suggest that you visit it one Sunday when there is a meeting on as a spectator and see what you think (there's no charge for spectators, and it's only a 20 minute or so drive from Romford).

I think that the bash day venues like Penenden Heath in Kent would be a better bet for you - no charge for the day out, and the terrain at Penenden Heath is perfect for the Frog. Also, I'm trying to find a suitable Essex venue for a bash day sometime - we went to Epping Forest a couple of years back, but there were too many of the general public milling around, so ideally a place off the beaten track where you don't get a load of people out walking the dogs/kids. I think that some people have been to Fairlop Waters, I had heard that there was an offroad track somewhere around there, but I'm not 100% sure?
