Hi guys, my front steering column always pops off of late, and I've lost the small plastic washer that pops in where you then srew a self tapper into the servo. Clearly the Servo head is worn as the screw can pull out with a little force. Am I best to buy some screw lock-tite stuff, or purchase a brand new servo? What woudl you recommend? If I were to stick a long oversized self tapper into it, I think I'd brake the servo?

I think it needs the plastic washer to stay on. The best thing to do would be to buy a new servo saver, or improvise a new washer :D

Thats great thanks :D Hey to save starting a new thread and I know you are Mr Monster Beetle - can you tell me where i may look for Monster Beetle screw bags, or better still what screw bags contain pretty much the same? I'm after screws BB2, BC4 and BA3??

Thanks as always :)

Sounds like the thread in the servo output shaft is stripped, if the screw comes out easily. Tamiya liquid threadlock is probably the best fix (and it smells really nice).

If you are using the smallest screw, you could try using a slightly larger one, and there should be a slightly larger washer on the S parts tree that goes with it.

The washer is necessary, it holds on the servo saver arm. You could just replace these with small metal washers, but make sure you use 3 or 4 so the screw doesn't go too far into the servo, or you use a smaller screw. You can get a new S parts quite cheaply, then you'll have a spare steering horn. Always handy to have a few spares.

Brilliant, threadlock ordered this morning! I'll see how I get on with other washers that will (hopefully!) fit! :)
