Can anyone advise. The connectors that I have on one of my RC cars are the slightly larger variety therefore don't quite fit into the newer smaller receivers. Is there ay way around this or is it just a case of purchasing an old school one, if so does anyone have one?! :D

Many thanks

Get some new servos. If your servos are that old that they have the old larger plugs on, spend a fiver and get a new one. Performance will increase so much you won't believe it.

Trust me, I tried the same thing - even bought a bunch of small adaptors and soldered them on. For the money and effort I was still using a 20 year old servo, which was weak, slow and worn out. Even a cheap AS-17 for 5 is better...

Well the trouble is the car came from America so I even had to order some adapters to change the servo leads etc all in preparation, and its an old vintage Marui (Samurai) so I really dont want to take it all apart and try and fit in newer smaller ones that won't fit properly without a lot of messing about etc etc B)

The only reason to keep the old servos is if you are wanting to keep all period radio in there, that includes a vintage receiver. Replacing the servos with modern ones will give you better, more reliable control - there's no knowing how long the old ones will last, or even if they work.

As for size, the standard servo size from 1980 is exactly the same as it is today, for example the tatest Futaba digital servo is exactly the same dimensions as their FPS48 from the 80s. Choose the same make of servo aa the ones in the buggy and even the servo horns should swap straight over.

If you still want to run the old servos your only option is to cut off the servo leads and solder on modern ones.

Thanks Terry. I think i'll search flea-bay for an old receiver and try it all together like that first, then if its not great/things don't work, I'll replace the lot! I'll let you know how I get on B)
