So I was going to leave this one alone and just run it, but there it was, and there the coping saw was, and, well, these things happen:

It needed a repaint anyway. I'm thinking black, so it's easier to touch up, or maybe silver. Either way, it will get a full interior, and I think I have figured out a way to make an actual folding soft top for it... more to come later.

hehehe love it ;)

Reckon it needs a bed for the back to make the shell abit more sturdy. Personally Id go with something abit brighter than Black but thats just imo how about a factory colour like Red? Pajero's look great in that colour 1:1 could work on scale as well

Got a bit further with this today, thanks to the Plastruct rack at the local hobby shop:

There isn't enough room to do a proper interior and still clear the steering arm and the radio tray; even with a 1/2 inch body lift, this is about as deep as I can go. Still, it's better than nothing, and it should look good once it's painted.

Next up is a steering wheel and shift levers; still not sure what to do about seats...

It's going to be silver, with semi-gloss black arches and bumpers. Not a standard Pajero color scheme, but it's the colors of the rented Suzuki Jimny that my wife and I drove across Barbados (and both fell in love with).

And yeah, I'd love to see a photo of one with the top down. Also, does the top fold like a normal convertible, or does it just come off?

Message sent, thanks! I'm always looking out for ideas during a build like this.

It's not going to be really true scale anyway, since I'm not going to bother rounding off the back corners of the B-pillars, and the dashboard I built is patterned after our Pathfinder (it's square, so it's easier to make from styrene sheet than a Mitsubishi dash). I'm more after an overall effect than a perfect scale model. Besides, I want to run it again sometime this decade, so I don't want this build to take too long.

Overdue update:

pajero_update.jpg

I keep wanting to run it, so I make a little progress, then go bang it up, then to a little more work... Most recently, the rear end was 4-linked. It still uses the stock shocks, but at an angle, so it has a LOT more travel (that's a Lunchbox tire under the wheel, and yes, all 4 are touching). I also made the rollbar out of brass tubing. After I completely failed to braze the joints properly, I gave up and used JB Weld. It seems to hold, but I guess only time will tell.

Next up: more interior work (it still has no seats) and I want to try to get a little more travel out of the front end. And yeah, it's still green, and it'll probably stay that way at this point.
