...

I don't know ... all I can say is that I find it particularly vomit-inducing: I hate the whole "truggy" look to start with, but the Dual Hunter with its silly, swoopy/curvy front end, flat grille/lights that looks to be just one sticker, and pink (pink for bog's sake!) graphics is to me a particularly hateful manifestation of the genre ... my problem is solely with the bodywork though - I think with a different body on it, it would be a fine car to play with. Maybe a Beetle? In red? :(

It's the same chassis (apart from the front gear casing's internals) as the BFE, Wild Dagger it is a pretty good chassis, I have heard of dual hot brushless set ups, Maxx sized shock plates, CVD's being available. There is a forum dedicated to this chassis called "daggerweb" I think.

I think the body could do with a differant paintjob and yes the pink stickers are vile, but some people may like it. When i asked the the original question i should have said ignore the stock paintjob

Why do you ask Gothcat, are you considering buying a Dual Hunter? Don't be swayed by other peoples opinions, if you like it buy one. Just like women, there are a lot of to choose from - it would be a shame if we all just bought the same cars.

The only peace of advice I can offer is, whatever you do don't bother with those pink flames........I am sure with a different paint job something like a Stadium Blitzer it would look superb.

Nah just read a lot of stuff about it and everyone seemed to think it was ugly and i thought it was not that bad if you customised it with a better paintjob or a differant bodyshell something like a Lunchbox  Also asked whathere like to drive as its nice to know for future referance

But if you are going to change things then surely you cannot like it that much to begin with?

Anyway - its alright I neither like or dislike it. Trucks like this are not to be looked at - they are to be used, and they all look the same covered in mud 10' in the air

i bought one because it was ugly.thinking along the lines, that if it gets bashed it wont bother me much.

but when i built and sprayed it(box art)it didnt look too bad.

i think they look better in the flesh.

I think the Dual Hunter has a face only its mother could love. But I am sure it is a hoot to drive. I have a dagger! Are you gonna buy one?

IMHO Truggys are all about performance, they might be a bit funny/odd to look at but they cover rough ground really well.

Like others have said,i don`t really like the look, but it should perform really quite well.

It's one of the worst body shells I ever saw from Tamiya... The Wild Dagger, Twin Detonator and BlackFoot Extreme look way better. And well - to be honest, the chassis isn't that cool looking either. Not a real Monster Truck... Don't get me wrong, it's a reliable and stable chassis and I had a lot of fun with mine, but I think Monster Trucks should have Live axles, not double wishbone suspension  I'm very happy the Clod is still for sale, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get one sometime... They look like a lot of fun :P

I think Tamiya was trying to get away from paying licensing agreement by hiring a car designer drop out to create the Hunter body. Or the engineering dept. just took parts from different truck body to creat this one of look, is like those Radio Shack RC truck. Maybe with the right paint job, it should look OK. On an scale of 1 - 10, I would give it a 6. A real cheap and ugly vehicle put out by Tamiya is the Japanese version of the Hummer used by the Japanese military, the detailing on the polycarb body is just terrible.

I think that's a RC car that only its mother could love. It seems someone at Tamiya was instructed to design the most ugliest car possible, and the paint job looks like it inspired the 2012 logo. But hey looks aren't every thing (I keep telling my self), I am sure it has a great personality.

I knew a guy who used to say that. He ended up married to a fat girl.

aint nothing wrong with marrying a girl with a little meat on her :-)

Also Ive been thinking of picking up this dual hunter but have been having second thoughts because I knew nothing about the chassis. now I know its got a predecessor I will do some more research.

I love my lunchbox and all... but I could really use a nice cheap offroader that doesnt flip 300 times every flip on the stock can.

Dual brushless you say? I'm looking for something suitable for my Clod...
