Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my motor in my Lunchbox, and wondering how low I should go to keep it managable. I currently have a sport tuned in there now with a Duratrax 16t mid-mod esc, and I modified the wheelie bar to add more stability. I'm wondering if a 17t is too much or should I go with a 19t?

Any suggestions of what motors you guys are using would help, thanks in advance.

It's mostly a park and street runner. Looking for the most speed without it being too much, looking to get as close to the thresehold as possible though!

I was looking at a Venom Fireball and Trinity Monster, any other suggestions? Budget in mind. ($20-$40 US)

I'm with Mymonsterbeetleisbroken, MambaMax 5700Kv in the Lunchbox is heaps of fun with it way over powered. Anything else was just a bit lame once the suspension mods and chassis strengthening was done.

Mamba King Crunch (Lunchbox)

Fireball motors are aptly named, they burn up at about that same rate too. How much is the EZ-Run BL system in the US?

I run an EZRun 9T Brushless in my VLB, and all you have to remember is that the throttle is not digital. Teaches you to drive it properly rather than flat out everywhere!

Only mods are the oil filled shocks, and a rubber (model aeroplane) wheel that actually rolls on the wheelie bar.

We're nuts

But that was my thinking too. I'd modded the truck, and simply got a bit board with it at regular speeds.

However, that decision was made after 4 years of tinkering with the chassis and adding a 19 turn venom fireball.

A 17 turn isn't too much power. In fact a good quality 17 turn motor would be great. Straight line speed won't thrill you, but off road it would be plenty. I can barely get my pumpkin above quarter throttle on rough ground so the rest of the potential is unusable until I find a smooth surface. :(

Agreed! It is fun knowing that all that speed is there, especially in such a small, toy like chassis
