Need some help guys: I want to run modern 12mm hex buggy wheels on the rear of my GHopper/Hornet buggies but need to buy some adaptors.

I have seen the HPI plastic ones: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...=LXN057&P=K

And the Tamiya aluminum ones: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=53913

Which works better? Anybody got advice?

The aluminum Tamiya set look like they add some offset - but $2 is pretty tempting for the HPI plastic ones.

Anyone tried them both?

Cheers!

Both should give you the same wheel track, but different hex wheels have different offsets.

With the HPI items the stock wheel hubs are retained, so you have axle pin, Tamiya wheel hub, HPI adaptor, wheel, hex nut.

With the Tamiya items, the aluminum adaptors replace the stock wheel hubs, so you have axle pin, tamiya hex adaptor, wheel, hex nut.

The HPI are cheap and get the job done, but the tamiya item is probably the better solution.

I modified a set HPI adapters to allow me to mount RC10 wheels on my Grasshopper II.
