Just a quick one people, my blackfoot is running and she is sweet very sweet, but the radio gear thats in has got a bit of a quirk. Its an old skool three stage manual speed controller and after a few blips forward the servo returns back to neutral but goes all the way into reverse causing it to do a burnout for a brief moment till it returns to the proper neutral position. Any ideas why this does this? I have altered the trim on the handset and it still does it a little bit, does the rod need moving to another pin hole on the servo. Cheers .

I would suggest taking the spring loaded servo saver off the throttle servo, and fitting a regular servo horn..

I remember back in the 80's when I used to bulid kits for my LHS, it was a common problem to have the bent end of the servo linkage catch on the rivets on the MSC, causing it to not go into or to get stuck in some speeds.. The fix was as simple as bending/cutting/filing the linkage to stop it hitting the rivets...

Turned it on this morning guys and my servos aren't responding to the controlller now. The speed controller seems to just stay in one position which is just forward a tiny bit. Can servo's be reset or re-installed for them to work properly?

Its all on charge as i type, just searching the house for some AA's because they are wired in to power the receiver. Its a 40mhz set up with as17 servo's and like the previous thread the forward reverse servo was just slowly going forward and backwards when i had took the control arm off the top of the servo and would't sit still. Finally got it to sit still about ten mins ago so everything is on charge at the moment in response to your reply. The charger i got with my skyline was an Ansman slow charger, something like 16 hours and i dont rate this at all, i had a quick charger with my old calsonic skyline and that worked wonderful. Any recommendations for a battery and charger deal?????

Unbundle the antenna wire from the rest and run it nowhere near any of the high power wires. The twitching is most likely interference.

If the car is a runner I recommend you ditch the MSC for an ESC. Will save you a lot of headaches and runaways. ESC also removes the need to have 4x AA's in the car saving weight. It also removes the second servo saving even more weight.

When it comes to batteries and chargers you pay for what you get. Spend peanuts, expect peanuts. Packs made up of EP or GP cells seem to be the best quality and look for a charger that has delta peak detection. Steer clear of timed chargers. The better the charger you buy the better it will look after your battery packs and the more cycles you will get from them, in the end saving money.

So if put an ESC in i can just run the one servo just like my TB-03. How much are they to buy on there own, can anyone reccomend one that will work best with this radio gear that i have got?? cheers for the advice.
