Basically the TT-01 is a begginner car and pretty much bottom of the line a good upgrade for a good price is the Tamiya TB-02.

The HPI Sprint 2 is a very good chassis, the perfect beginners racing chassis. Its based on the previous Sprint but has much more performance, and it can trace its development back to the HPI RS4 Pro which in the early days of touring car racing was the car to have. Fully ballraced and oil shocks as standard means very good value, cheaper than a TB-02 as well.

HPI cars are pretty good but they don't have the best distributor in the uK so make sure your LHS has plenty of spares unless you don't mind mail ordering. The TB-02 is well worth considering as they can be bought cheaply if you know where to look and seem to perform well. It could be worth considering the Schumacher Mission S1 as well although like the HPI it has quite an open design. The combination of belt drive an an open chassis means that small stones and other debris from the road can be ingested by the car shredding belts.
