Need to check with her indoors about the 17th. Will post back soon...

Thanks for adding the Poll Matt. Have now voted as follows:

Ham Hill Bash - Sun 31st May

Ogmore Bash - Sun 28th June

Might have a bash over this side of the world on Monday this week as I've been getting everything prepped. Anyone brave enough to want to venture to the Wilds of South Wales, drop me a PM with the type of stuff you want to run and we'll sort a location to suit (of which we have many).

Although I can't make this weekend a suggestion is Avon Meads in Bristol behind the Showcase cinema, I go there quite a lot and is empty pretty much all day bar the odd learner driver passing through. There are speed bumps and an overal area similar if not bigger to the Hengrove site we normally go.

Access is very easy from the M32/Bath road and the tarmac is very smooth. There is also an empty MFI car park off Bath Road about half a mile away.

I have attached a google images for reference if this helps.

Nice one Dean! Appreciate your help - gives more options.

Will see what the interest is for this weekend then and where people want to go. Happy to travel to Bristol if people prefer that to Sunny South Wales :)

Catch up soon

Can't make 17th in Bristol, that's a very busy weekend for me, as is the following weekend.

Lemming, if you're all good to go and nobody else is up for Bristol then I might pop over to South Wales on Monday, bit skint at the mo but will try to earn some cash on the weekend

Cool!

I believe Matt and Karan are up for it as well as they can't make the 17th either (as far as I know).

Found some more possible locations round here for on-road bashing last night, so should be able to provide a nice mix of surfaces.

All the best

No worries Mat. Trying to free up the 17th at present. Definitely reckon it will be a superb location and hopefully will get some new members popping along!

All the best and hope her wedding goes well.

Darn - If only I was nearer!

The poll is not allowing me to vote, so will add dates into the thread later.

Just had an awesome day of bashing in rain and wind - cheers guys (and gal). Will add a video (or two) as soon as I have some time free.

First video (of 2) added now - Treforest Industrial Estate - Large tarmac running area featured where we spent a very wet and windy morning :(

Here it is: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp?id=3735

Will get to work on the second video later in the week :)

Steve

EDIT: Linky fixed now... and 2nd video is almost ready - lots of slow-mo in the second one (Gethin Park) and one of my favourite songs...

Great videos as always, both look great locations.

Matt mentioned about the 17th at his workplace car park, is there any news on this still maybe going ahead?

think we should move to the next bash being @ yeovil.

still prepping for the wedding, it's next weekend and the stage for the band isn't built yet, ooops!

Still not got around to voting. Need the missus to let me know what dates are allowed!!! ;)

As to the Ogmore / Merthyr Mawr bash, I've been thinking (bad idea I know). Will throw it open for thoughts, but might be worth using the locations from the latest bash over here. It would work out closer to everyone (1/2 hour travel time reduction) and cheaper (saving about £5 total in parking)...

Advantages:

Shorter distance (about 1/2 hour shorter drive for anyone coming over the bridge)

Decent Tarmac

Mc D's, F&B, Cheap Pub meals etc really close to the tarmac site

Decent gravel at second site (only 10 mins drive from the first)

Nice grass / rough terrain for big truck fun

Nice scale crawling terrain

BBQ points at second location

Seriously big jump point (if you aren't worried about the car surviving and just want some awesome video / pics)

Quieter even on hot days

No parking charges (Ogmore is £3.50 and Merthyr Mawr is either £1 or £1.50)

Dis-Advantages:

No sand

No big rocks for large crawlers

No water (well, just streams) apart from a lovely pond, but that is 10 mins walk from the parking area

Anyway, looking for thoughts

The mini-Wales bash was a great location, the tarmac stretch was just great (although we probably upset a few learner drivers who had come to practice their 3-point turns!) and the country park was just right for the toys we all had. Was good fun for scalers, big trucks and buggies.

Hi Captain Hazzard, anyone is welcome at a Cider Bashers meet, it will be great to have a new member along.

Voting is still open for the Yeovil meet, so place your vote if you want to attend.

We meet at Ham Hill Country Park, which is behind the village of Stoke-sub-Hamdon, just off the A303. Here's a link to a google map of the park:

Hi all,

Just a note to say that I'm not going to be about on the 5th of July option for the South Wales bash. Being the organiser for the South Wales bashes, it's not a good idea for me not to be present! :(

Therefore, decisions have been made as follows:

Yeovil Bash will be at Ham Hill on: 31st May 2009 - This coming weekend!!! :D

South Wales Bash (new sites) will be on: 28th June 2009 - The day before Matt becomes an even older git!!! :P:)

Everyone is welcome, whether they have been before or not.

All the best

Steve

EDIT: It should have read May not June for Yeovil - I'm a doorknob - now updated correctly (cheers for noticing Matt)
