OK, here's the rub. About 2 years ago I bought a Super Clod - the initial plan was to build the shell into a scaler, and the axles into a uPVC cane super-crawler. However, plans have a way of not happening, and with other commitments this year it's not likely that I'll be taking part in any crawling competitions. As such, I've kind of lost interest in the cane crawler idea. I'm also seriously considering thinning my collection of things that hasn't been used for an age.

I'm also wondering if the Clod shell is the best for a scaler - I think a Yota or F350 would sit better over my spare XC chassis.

Finally, I have a near-stock TXT-1 that's been out of action for almost a year due to a broken propshaft. I just haven't bothered to fix it because it never really saw much use - too bulky and unstable with its soft springs and torque twist.

Now, I consider that I have 3 options:

1) Build the Clod into a near-stock beauty, possibly with minor hop-ups like oil shocks and axle-mounted servos. Outfit it with 14.4v running gear and let her rip. Sell the TXT to thin the collection and raise cash for an F350 or Yota shell.

2) Build the Clod axles into the TXT chassis to make a TXT that is basically more stable and able to handle 14.4v power without tying itself in knots. Sell the Clod shell and chassis and TXT axles to thin the collection and raise cash for an F350 or Yota shell.

3) Sell the entire super clod as a part-built kit (the axles are already built) and fix the TXT. Use the cash to buy an F350 or Yota shell.

I think looks-wise I'd prefer the Clod to be built on its stock chassis - I've never owned a stock Clod, and there's something about that big rattly beast bouncing over grass that is so appealing, especially since I lusted after an original Clod "way back in the day". But performance-wise, the TXT hybrid should be so much better, with proper 4-linked suspension, longer wheelbase and lexan shell for lower weight. If I'm going to hit it with 14.4v power, the TXT chassis would surely stay upright and unbroken for much longer.

However - if there's anyone who has an F350 or Yota shell that and would rather have parts of my Clod or TXT, you may swing me into another direction!

Any advices greatfully received ^_^
