Hey all you Kyosho nuts,

I recall a friend of mine had a Kyosho Road racing bike that I think was called the Race Ride 10, or something of that ilk...

It was an electric bike that came with an ancient ESC that may have been a part of a PCB that included the receiver. It had cast alloy wheels and if I recall, a metal chain with real links. Not sure if it was 1/10 or 1/8th scale.

I have done a google search and come up with nada....seems like they never existed....

Anyone got any info on them?

Regards

Andy

It's the Kyosho Hanging On Racer, also known as Hang On Rider, usually shortened to HOR. Kyosho still make them.

The first Kyosho bikes from 1989 had a fixed rider, in 92 they revised them to the Hanging on racer bikes which are still going today, the name comes from the rider that leans over the side of the bike when cornering. These are all 1/8th scale and used Kyoshos integrated receiver/ESC unit that was also used in their 1/20th scale Baja Bugs.

Bike racing is more popular in 1/5th scale, the bigger bikes use the same motors and radio gear that the cars do, so easier to run them and the bigger size makes them more stable. If you fancy something in the smaller 1/8th scale the Venom GPV-1 are more durable, reliable and cheaper. They are also proving popular amongst the r/c bike racers as well.

Hi,

the kyosho race rider is not a electric bike, it was an gas engine powered bike. the engine was a OS10. The electric version was the Eleck Rider. You can found both in my TC showroom.

greetings Frank
