i recently got a dark ipmact (DF-03), when i built it i had problems fitting the carson sport esc into the chassis after hours of fiddiling i finally did it i then tried to set it up with my controller but yet more broblems occered. after a long discussion with th u.k. importer i use i finally got it working. my car has only had about 2 hours of running split up into about 1/2 an hour each day. and all ready the esc has broken. there are no lights on the esc but the steering still works, i have tried changing the plug that its connected to on the recever and that hasnt worked. any one got any ideas?? in a couple of weeks im going to take it back to the shop if i cant fix it. No lights on doesn't sound too good at all. Possibly dead. The Dark Impact body is a tight fit over the chassis and getting adequate air flow over the ESC can be a pain with large ESCs and almost impossible to fit an ESC with a fan in there without blocking 1/2 of the fan. I have the air duct above the ESC heatsink cut out, cut slightly more from the rear of the body to get an air flow and stuck my heatsink bars on backwards to get them out in moving air. Everything is staying within safe temps for a full 4000mAh Li-Po driven like I stole it (Temps are much less and runtime is a lot longer if I drive smoothly).

Steering still working tells you the receiver is still being powered by the BEC of the ESC so it's partially turning on and the plug you tried to replace isn't the problem. What gearing do you have fitted?
