Is Ballistic Brushless the only company that has made a 1/10 scale Porsche 959 body?

I'd love to get it but it's just too expensive and I was wondering if there were any other options.

Did you ever buy one? If so, what Chassis did you put it on? Where I live in the States, only Traxxis, Team Associated, and a few other brands are easy to obtain at the local hobby shop. Btw, I am new to this hobby and appreciate any recommendations that you have on what chassis works best with the 959 shell.

RCrallyraiders.com- they sell them too, I think its the same guy as ballasitic brushless. I will probably get one, just need to find a chassis that works well with it and that easy to get parts for....

Kamtec made them too. But as far as I remember the come without stickers.
The Kamtec body is 1/12th, a replacement for the Tamiya 959 body.

The Ballistic Brushless body is designed for 4wd buggies.

His showroom shows the body fitted to:

Did not know that. Thanks for the Input.

So if I got tiered of my Subaru Body on the DF03 RA I could replace it with the nice 959. I check his homepage, but I could not find any prices. How much are they?

I also read that he uses 2.2 Tires, but that sounds very big to me. I use 2.2 on my crawler and those tires are huge.

No, not without adding the Dark Impact buggy suspension and wheels. The body is made for buggy chassis, so they are 240mm wide.

prices are in his trades section

2.2 buggy tyres are around 90mm overall diameter.

Sounds like a dream to me.

Buying another Df03 Chassis, sell the body on Ebay, buy a nice brushless system and a finish 959 body.

I think I have to send him a email :-)

Does anyone know what other Chassis fit his 1/10 Porsche 959 Frame sold here www.rcrallyraiders.com?

I was thinking that these might? HPI Racing Brama 10B RTR 4WD

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVZB2

http://www.zerorc.com/hpi-racing-brama-10b-rtr-4wd-overview

The wheels seem to work with it as well from what the person selling the 959 shells say...

"The other factor to remember is to check the wheel drive hex

size, the 1/10th replica original wheels I supply are 12mm hex which is the

standard Tamiya, HPI etc size."

Any one have any experience in this area with the HPI Racing Brama 10B RTR 4WD working with it?

Sorry for the dumb questions, I am very new to this.

Thanks in advance

Using the bodies on anything but the chassis he provides a fitting kit for will usually mean sorting out your own body posts, but 20 years ago fitting rally and touring car bodies on buggies was all the rage and you can fit any body onto any chassis with a bit of creative thinking. Usual method is to screw body posts onto the damper mounts, Schumacher make some designed specifically for mounting on vertical plates.

The only factor to take into account is the wheelbase. I don't know the wheelbase of the bodies, but looking at the showroom entries the chassis used (DF02, DF03) have wheelbases around 270mm (265-272mm) so the 266mm wheelbase Brama will work but high end buggies (D4, B44, TRF501, etc) will need their suspension modifying to reduce their wheelbase.

Thanks for the feedback. I am just waiting for the rcrallyraiders.com owner to respond on instruction on how to order. They take paypal which is nice. Just need the merchant website to plug in the info.... Luckily the HPI buggy model is inexpensive but easily upgradable as I am told. This will be my first build ever so when I finish, I can post some pictures. Thanks for your help Terry.sc and the rest of the gang.
