I've recently bought a lot form our local advertisement website (marktplaats). It had a blurry picture of a pile of parts and 2 complete looking cars. One looked like a Schumacher Cat so I decided to bid on it. One was RTR and had a manual, a Graupner Pinto. I can't figure out what the other one is. It really really looks like the Cat, bit it's just not it..

here's some pictures:

I don't really care what it is 'cause I paid next to nothing, but I just like to know what I have :o

Thanks! Yeah I was looking at Yokomo's on TC, but couldn't find any that looked like this. Seems that no one has one of these in a showroom on TC. Its almost mint, just missing a few original screws and the original spoiler. The bodyshell has only a single crack and is painted very thin so I can remove that with Carson Paintkiller and give it a respray.

What could this be worth? since I paid around 30€ for it i'd like to know if I made a good deal (think so ;) ). I'm gonna test it out at a racetrack tomorrow :) See how it competes against a DB01. (And testing my new B4 so my Dynastorm can rest in piece on the shelf)

It's a yokomo dogfighter, Possibly a worx 93 ? Very nice piece of kit and looks in great condition too.

Well it's not a works 93. I think it is a yokomo of some sort but not that one. Over to Terry

It's a yokomo dogfighter,
:(:P - Just look at the front gearbox case and compare it to any old Yoke buggy.

It's not something that ever made it to the UK or USA, and definitely not from the big manufacturers. Like the Graupner Pinto it's likely to be a rebadged Chinese no name buggy that took a lot of it's styling cues from the old Dogfighters.

Could it be Academy then? It has a Academy plastic spoiler and the front tires are Academy too

hmm that's a bummer... seems to be a nice buggy though. the only thing is that the spurgear has a weird pitch. 56dp or something... Think i'll just respray the body and put it on the shelf :o

it is an academy alright; it was called "wyvern"

I just checked the korean site but they renewed it. Some of their old cars have disappeared.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academy_Plastic_Model_Co only has text

I have an old catalog of them which also shows the option parts and the wyvern EX

The catalog has no year on it, but I believe it is from the late nineties.

The arms really look like copies of the yokomos between 93 and 98.

If it was distributed in the US it would be through MRC, but this is the first one I see aside of those catalog pictures

could it be possible to scan the catalog? well that's another mystery solved :P Academy Wyvern :D thanks!

I don't have access to a scanner unfortunately.

Maybe I can make some pics with my camera. There's about 3 or 4 pages relevant to the wyvern. Anything particular you want to have readable or focused on?

no nothing special. just like to see a picture of it besides those i took myself ;) Could this buggy be worth something, since it's quite rare (but also its an Academy... )
