Two words for the poster of this thread: FAMILY FORUM.

While some of us "blokes" might giggle at the method for the drawing of the proposed raffle - perhaps some parents and or wives and girlfriends might find this a little offputting.

We would appreciate an edit.

Cheers

You have a point there, but honestly I think children who are at an age that they cannot decide well over (their own) money will need to have permission from their parents first anyway, in most cases they can't even access their money yet in those cases.

I find it an interesting idea, but very, very much depending upon how much every person would have to pay to enter the raffle. I mean, $20 is ok, but more than that would be a too big investment to keep it fun :(

PS: Just asking... What's the condition of the car and what's missing?

The first post has been edited to remove the promise of naughty photos.

Nothing to do with money.

Sounds abit fishy to me.

Could be wrong but i have heard of things like this before.

Heck there was even a bloke that did it on ebay to sell his house!

Sounds like a bit of fun. But from a seller's point of view, why do it this way as opposed to simply selling the parts in separate lots? For those more experienced mates, hope to hear your advice/comments. Cheers.

Interesting comments so far, well for starters, its just a raffle, maybe a new idea to some. There is a prize, you pay a small amount, your name goes in a bowl, a name is drawn and that person wins it all.. for peanuts. The losers get, well nothing, but the fun and chance to get alot of stuff for $20.00 dollars.

I have run these before on other forums with items and its been fun and no hassle for anyone.

When I first posted the topic I said I would get my girlfriend to make a video of the name drawing topless, which ruffled some feathers. SO NO, she wont be doing it, but if people want I WILL do it topless instead

Ill post pictures of all the stuff before anyone has to commit to anything etc, this is simply a "yeah im interested, or yeah im interested depending on xxx"

I will post another official topic with all the details, pictures etc shortly if it gets going

Just throwing the idea out there, either a $20 dollar fun gamble or pretty high BIN on ebay. I need to get enough people interested to make it worth my while.

For starters, its a complete avante, the only things that are missing from the car are the driver figure and a couple of washers/metal bits that make up the rear gear box. I am very OCD about my cars and parts, so you WILL know whats up for grabs, either here or on ebay later.

Also included is a few bodies of variying quality and quite a few parts that are new that I didnt use ranging from really rare to common but in demand (ie tires).

I can do that too, you guys tell me what you want.

Multiple Lots, one big lots etc.. I dunno, just trying to get rid of this stuff.

I wondered what the original offer was  , thanks for letting us know, don't wanna see you topless though!, why do you have to be topless?

Be careful with PayPal if you're planning a raffle -- They don't allow money transfers for any sort of gambling.

You have to be sure that none of the participants even mention the word 'raffle' within the PayPal system or the account will get frozen and reversed. Maybe sell some Tamiya club 'T-shirts' as a decoy?? ;)

Oh yeah - I have $20 on the Avante.. B)
