Brushless For Bfe?

Has anybody put a brushless setup in there Blackfoot Extreme? I need to know what KV rating is possible for the BFE's FDR

I'm also very curious about this. I wonder what would wake it up without blowing it up.

My wife is running a 10.5t Nosram setup in her BFX, no problems yet, just want to put some AW grease in the diff too slow the action up.

Ive just took the plunge and bought a 13.5t ezrun system with the 60amp esc for my blackfoot extreme, with its 3300kv motor it should be quick without being stupid and might suite the truck well. i will let you know how i get on when it arrives.

I have been using a Orion vortex buggy brushless system with a Orion li po batt pack in my King Blackfoot and while its only rated at 2990kv on paper, its more like 4000 with the Li Pos

Still its far superior to any brushed setup i have had in it.

I am not to familiar with the Extreme, But if its like the KBF you need torque rather than high rpm to get those big wheels rotating with authority!

do you think a 4000kv motor or less would be ok with a 18.3:1 FDR?

The 10.5T setup has a Kv rating of 4100rpm. We are using the smallest gear at the mo with no heat issues so are going to step up to a 20 tooth pinion. if you look at the last these Vids you can see it in action, the only mods made are full brearings, oil shocks and it's on 2.4Ghz. Thanks for that post Matt....since 10.5t doesnt get hot maybe i could run a higher kv motor?
