Because it is not a lexan and it is always like this.

Its the first model that i have seen like this with seperate doors, bonnet etc. Just wondered why it wasn't one piece like the monster beetle shell etc.

It's a re-issue of the original Porsche 934 (Tamiyas' first RC car), for which Tamiya used the body off their 1/12 scale Porsche 934 static kit. It's a proper "model".

Since the Rough Rider annoucement you would think that no one is bothered about the Black Porsche - it seems somewhat pushed aside - just compare the number of replies on both threads.

To maximise their sales maybe Tamiya should have launched them at different shows, rather than at the same time......... Wonder what Tamiya are going to launch at the next show + when is it?

The box of the Black Porsche looks nice; not looked, but is it the same as the original?

My guess for the lesser popularity at this early stage (compared to the Buggy Champ announcement) is the fact that this has been released on the TamTechGear platform rather than the original chassis.

It is a seriously cool little kit with all that Black limited edition goodness, I would love one, but the Champ is back, and it's calling me

I was hoping for a fully spec'ed Tamtech with Aeration Dampers, hop-ups and sport tune motor. I guess the only special bits is the hard body.

really? I had the Tamtech before and it was very easy to drive, way easier than the M04L...

The extra weight of the Hard body isnt helpful,but most people will not run this anyway.

I was a bit torn between this and the new rough rider, but seeing as I have an old rough rider that I run, I have decided to buy this. I have been quoted a release date of 18 June so I am pre-ordering to guarantee I get one.

I will be speculating with this, it is purely a financial investment - I guess if I say this now then my concience is clear - so when you see me show the NIB with bag in my showroom please dont ask me to build the shell or run the car

I really do think it looks georgeous and it will be a shame it never gets built. I could care less about running it as I race TC and so the urge is suppressed to run it as it won't perform well.

I had no idea what 14600 Yen would be in sterling, so typed in www.xe.com to do the currency conversion and waited for the worst. I am stunned, is it really that cheap? Was expecting it to be loads more.
