Here are a few pix of my Brat. I finished building it last weekend, and finished painting it early this week. Already, it has been rolled over a few times on the concrete.

When you put your Brat back together, make sure you apply thread-locker on the screws that hold the wheel carriers that swivel. (see pic)

Looks good! Did you get your missing kingpin screw? I can't wait to get my parts and start building this! And even more start running it!

Woot! Came home from work tonight to find a couple of packages had come in the post, almost everything is here now! Soon it's building time! A package came from your tiny English isles faster than most everything that has been shipped on my continent. Wasn't expecting that. The crappy part is waiting for my ESC and motor from the far east. :) My poor brat is going to get dusty before they get here!

Aaah, coming home to finding packages on the door step. My favourite part of the hobby!

Don't forget that putting larger wheels on it will affect the rollout of the car. Bigger wheels probably means you'll need a smaller pinion. You should at least source a Frog gearset for the changeable ratios, and possibly even a Blackfoot style counter gear and pinion if you plan to run that size wheels.

Check out the Mud Blaster manual, that's probably pretty close to what you're trying to do.

If the suspension is floppy, it's more likely that you need to replace the pressed metal parts, they wear a lot faster than the plastic parts do. Ie, the four metal parts that hold the front arms, and the loops that hold the rear arms in.

I've already replaced the metal parts, there was a bunch of play there, although the worst was from worn out plastic bushings. I've got a monster beetle pinion coming and an adjustable motor mount to take into account the change in gear ratio from the larger diameter tires.

My build is well into it, see Building My Brat Finally!
