I was just whatching some fantastic videos on you tube of all sorts of different Tamiyas being generally thrashed about like they were meant to be! One of the best was of a Lunch Box on a beech it looked awsome, and then I saw a Brat chassis with a Camaro Z28 body and thant was awsome then I saw a Blackfoot and that was awsome too!!! my personal favourite has always been my modified SRB Ranger but lately Ive been taking to my Celica GRB. So whats your favourite?, if you go out and you can only take one car what would you take to be sure aof a good time? over to you all

i run a grasshopper with a 12 double motor in it (and hornet shocks, bearings)

it's a rocket car!! and can take some abuse.

gotta be one of my all time faves.

Indeed that is a tough choice.

Seeing as we are in the vintage section my modern tamiya's are instantly ruled out. That doesn't matter though as I still think vintage rc's provide the most fun.

The first "proper" RC I ever drove was my cousins old monster beetle. I in fact bought it off of him (around 10 years ago, the car would have been 12 years old at the time)

It was worn out, beaten up pretty well, every time I used it something broke. My "local hobby store" didn't have anything for it, and I had no internet. I still enjoyed playing with it, even though the aged 1200 nicad packs gave it a 4 minute run time on its mechanical speed control. Eventually it broke beyond the capabilities of super glue and duct tape repairs. About 6 months later we got an internet connection, and I stumbled across tamiyaclub and ebay, and I thought of my ridiculous user name . The following 6 years resulted in my current tamiya addiction and me writing this message today :(

It would have to be my modified monster beetle. Not only because the MB is partly the reason why I love this hobby, but also because it is a great handling chassis - fun on and off road. I like the look of the beetle body, the scream of the technigold motor through the thorp transmission, the sound of the tyres as the pin spikes wear away, the way the rear suspension squats under acceleration, the way it lifts a front wheel when exiting a corner. I love advertising sign on the rear skid plate - as if you didn't notice it was a MONSTER BEETLE :P

A very tough choice not knowing what the terrain will be like.

I would probably grab the brushless Lunchbox as I know it will run over the most places with ease. If I knew the terrain was going to be flat or a beach I'd go for the 4600Kv Super Champ.

I have lots of room usually and I take all the ones that are running when I go out.

I'd probably go for a Midnight Pumpkin ... but it'd be a tough choice between that & the Clodbuster. I mean, the VLB/Pumpkin will drive on a _lot_ of surfaces, but the Clod will cope with more - deeper snow, across water, and over Lunchboxes :P

hands down, my blitzer beetle with the sports tuned and teu 101bk in it. good for any surface, even grass heh.

For me it has to be the Brat, whenever I get a call for a meet up and run somat it's the only car I can pick up and now that a) it will just need charging and will run and :) it can take the knocks (if you forget the body LOL) and it's at home on the tarmac / grass / off road

I get so much fun from running mine and in 4 years + of running i've not had to do owt to it :-)

2nd choice would be the Lunchbox or Blackfoot both fantastic and 'Fun' trucks

Probably my Lunch Box. I should qualify that though.

If I can only take one, I'd probably put a bit of work into it. A slightly hotter motor than the 540 that's currently in it, (maybe a 19 or 23T or 3000-3500 kv brushless) and some proper shocks. The Lunch Box can go on grass and pretty bumpy off road conditions that no 2WD buggy can.

My other car now is a Stampede, which is better in many ways. But I always seem to be picking up sticks and rock in the drive shafts. Very annoying, and not ideal for a basher.

My Brat is supposed to arrive today, but I don't expect it to be anywhere near as versatile as the Lunch Box. Lower ground clearance and less aggressive tread on the tires. The basic chevron tires on the Lunch Box are a great compromise too; they work well off road, but they don't burn down too quickly on road.

I had a Falcon back in the day; not a good basher; could not take a frontal hit without breaking that front bulkhead.

To the guy who said "grasshopper" you should give the Lunch Box a look. It uses the same durable sealed drivetrain & bumper, but with more ground clearance.

To the guy who said "Super Shot": Wow, you are gutzy. To bash with a car which has some un-obtainable parts...

That is another good reason Lunch Box is good. It is re-re'd, so parts are available without having to grab one's ankles. :P

My Pajero XC (since 1997) with the front and rear locked, it goes pretty well anywhere. So far everything is holding up, mind you I haven't done a head on with a concrete curb or drove it off a cliff, but I have replaced the chassis but is not because is damage beyond repair. I ordered the drive shaft a few years back and added the chassis with the order

There was a video posted a while back of Moosey's Super Shot in action, set to the music 'Ecuador'. One of my favourite vintage RC videos ever, along with 80s Night, featuring The Fox set to Danger Zone...

One of the reasons the Super Shot is my choice was that video.

That, and the fact that it's quite a complex car, so it's fun to take apart and rebuild. And it just looks so MEAN!

Does my Tiger 1 count? It needs paint to finish it, but I got the Impact! adjustable suspension set/metal tracks/gearboxes, DT chassis brace, custom spring loaded track tensioner, custom speaker box, and it'll climb anything an SRB wil, it'll just take 10 times longer, lol!

I love my Hotshot (re-re), but nothing beats an M03 for drunken late night street bashing... flip 10 barrel rolls, kick it with your toe, and keep on rolling!

No. 1 for me would be my (super) Clodbuster although I'm sure the position will be hotly contended when the radio gear for my Lunchbox arrives. I'd love to run both on a beach but that would be a 500km drive to get there ;)

While I like it that you consider me gutsy...

Which parts for the Super Shot are impossible to find, besides the gold wheels, rear tires and bodyparts? The Hot Shot re-re means most parts are readily available again for a runner. And you can just use modern wheels/tires, although I run mine on the copies of the pin spikes you see around.

I even run it with the original motor, since the rotor and brushes can still be found.

That said... I do have a boxful of parts stashed away...

Oooh a tough choice! I love my 4300kv Thunder Dragon but I think it would have to be my Superstock RZ powered Bush Devil - just the right amount of power/ground clearance etc - love it! ;)
