Spray Booths For Rc Car Shells

Rather than getting paint dust all over my brand new workshop, I want to make a spray booth, with lights, extractor fan and filtering system, heating (mini baking oven), and I guess a turntable to sit the car body on.

Anybody done something similar? How easy are they to paint in? Can you get at the body properly to spray it?

Hi I never built a spray booth as you have described but I have built a spray 'oven' using two Halogen heaters.

I have built a booth in my loft. It's a made from a huge big carboard box with the front cut out and the top hinged upwards.

Overhead I have a set of twin halogen lamps (designed as workshop inspection lamps) that keep the area warm and bright while the paint cures.

I have never used a turntable - I use old Tamiya paint tins to hold the shell in place - but it shouldn't be difficult to make a turntable out of some household item.

it's fairly basic, but has lights and extraction

saves the usual 1000 gnats from having a party on my freshly painted shells too!
