I've Had A Few Beers, So I Have Decided To Build Something (vintage)

It has been a rough day, amongst other thingsI have been mowing my lawn, which isn't an easy task, as it is an orchasrd and it is quite large. I also needed to change the oil in both my mowers and do some general maintenance, so I needed a beer. I am someone who is in tune with my body, so I listened to what it was saying and went out for a few at the local beer garden. Pilsner Urquell if you must know. So now I want to build something. I am off to the vault to open a nice old kit and rip into those blisters :-) I don't think I will attempt any painting, but I will certainly bring the screwdriver out of mothballs and assemble something and make it worthless in the process :-D

Instead you should go order a completly new tamiya kit and build it with your kid. This one of course:REMOVED

Build a Striker or Sonic Fighter while you still have a buzz going. I'm pretty sure some of the guys at Tamiya were a little tipsy when they designed those cars in the first place

Well, you are a stereotypical Czech with the Pilsner Urquell, aren't you? I like that, but I like Golden Pheasant even better. (even though it sounds pretty gay)

How about a Grasshopper? The build will be done by the time your buzz wears off.

...or, if you want to really challenge yourself, maybe a Hotshot.

I just finished a Brat, it was a lot of fun until I got around to the painting. I'm going to leave that to my wife from now on.

I've got a better idea, build an R/C lawnmower or do an R/C conversion on your riding mower using only vintage parts.

Get your R/C fix while making the lawn mowing chores a LOT more interesting.

Don't let the Mrs. catch on to what you're doing or there will be no end of trouble....

Beer should be for the current stuff. Vintage stuff should be a nice bottle of Red wine or White or the bubblies.

Mind you drinking and building could be a no no. A few years back drank some beer and spray painted the body before applying the window mask, not good. Ended up with a 100% silver color body before decaling.

It could be a lot worse; I saw a M-03 mini cooper painted with a "my little pony" paintjob. I think it was on Tony Gray's mini website. Gawd-awful it was too.

Somebody HAD to be drinking on that one.

As you are in the right frame of mind, why not just start one sober - at least you'll make a better job in building it (+ you'll remember doing it as well). It doesn't need to be a mega bucks kit, there must be one vintage kit in your collection that you're uncertain of keeping anyway. Sonic Fighter, Striker, Willy's Wheeler ...........

AHH what an anti climax the only thing we gained was the fact you have an orchard and 2 mowers and cant handle your beer i say you should build a black porsche as punishment

I can't do that anymore, I only have one.

One mower technically isn't mine, it belongs to my mother in law. She insisted on buying it, for reasons that I still don't fully understand. I still have to change the oil and mow with it though.

It is strange, sometimes you can drink quite a few beers and really get into it. Other times, the beer is kind of heavy and you want to sleep.

Paul ... I have the perfect solution for you to keep yourself from falling asleep:

1. Pull out one of your Sand Rovers and do this

2. Pull out one of your Monster Beetles, save/sell the body shell and fit one of these from e-Pay ... item# 170333423943

3. Then again you have a RTR version that you might consider instead of breaking the blisters here
