Help Needed Indentifying Motor!

Does anyone know what sort of motor this is? It has the words 'Magic' on the label & a picture of a guy holding a trophy in the air on it! It came from the USA with a 2nd hand Monster Beetle!

I looks to be a Trinity Joel "Magic" Johnson 27 turn stock motor from the early 90's...

I'll have a look through a few old RC Car action mags for more info, but I'm sure Terrysc can give you the full run down on it...

Hey, thanks for letting me know, is this a fast motor??? how much better than a stock motor is it?

When new, the "Magic" motor would have been quite a bit faster than the kit 540 motor that the Monster Beetle came with..

Unfortunately, many of the stock motors of this era had stupid amounts of timing advance on them ( 36 degrees +) meaning that their performance dropped off after a few race meetings....
