Hey all,

Will the 35 amp ezrun esc with the 9T motor be a decent, quick, reliable engine for my FF-01 chassis?

I'm not worried about excess power, mashing gears etc... just don't want to buy the cheaper esc and have it blow up, but don't want to spend the extra on the 60 amp if the lightweight FF-01 isn't going to push the system at all. Plus, the 60 amp isn't far from the cost of a castle creations sidewinder, a system I already know to be very good.

It'll be run on 7.2 volt nimh's for the time being.

ta!

yea they're great units, get one!!

not as powerful as a real/fullsize BL motor, about same as a 15T brushed

is there a sensorless 540 size BL motor you can buy and use w/ this ESC?

YES, any ezrun that's a .5 (5.5,8.5,13.5) is a 540 size.

the ezrun esc can also run all of the popular bl motors, sensored and sensorless. if you have a sensored motor you just don't hook up the sensor wires.

Cool, around 15T brushed speeds are what I'd hope for, a good balance of speed and control. I've got a 15 turn motor in my ta03, it pulls along nicely. In fact I once drove it in FF mode, with the drive belt disconnected, it wheel span like crazy, so in the FF-01 it should be perfect for what I'm after

except they say not to use the .5 motors with the 35a esc or it will pull too much current and ruin the esc..

Can you explain this one? I've got the 9t motor, and it's the same exact size as all my 540 motors, and it's WAY more powerful than my 15t brushed motor I was previously running.

The 9T is the overall same size as a 540 because of the external cooling finns. Internally they are 380 in size. They pack plenty of power for their size and are great value for money. I have 3 35amp systems, 1 x 13T in my M-03R and 2 x 9T which have had use in nearlt all my car's for onroad to monster trucks and still going strong.

I have the 35amp 4300kv eZrun Ed and you have seen the way that performs in my Thunder Dragon! :( Adam has put the same motor/esc in an M03 and it is controllable - go for it! :D

Having seen this machine first hand last night, it's surprisingly controllable, however, it is almost certainly too much power, the poor little Mini can't *actually* get the power down & retain anything resembling traction.

That's partly due to the nature of the tight & twisty track, there isn't enough space to use the power & Adam's Mini didn't seem any faster than the silver can ones :(

Awesome, I thought yours might have been the 60 amp. That thing had crazy speed :D

Mine quick... it is quicker once the wheel spin has stopped and I have the punch set to low... Just takes a while for the extra power to show itself...
