I raced my RWD 19T brushless Traxxas Slash against the 1/8 Nitro 4X4 buggys today at our club, there were about 15 nitros,i qualified 7th for the main 30 minute final and managed to get up to 5th at the end, they had between 3-5 pitstops for fuel and i stopped once[full body off job] for a fresh 4800 Lipo.after the 30 minutes,i still had power to continue for another 10 minutes or so,some gearing up to do for next time i think, what a great days entertainment :)

Cheers, thanks for that :)

The pitstop was really funny,i have never had to do a pitstop before[been racing RC for 15+ years],i swapped the battery over, put the body back on and forgot to switch the car back on,after running off the rostrum again to switch it on,i realised i hadn`t plugged the battery in LOL, so the pitstops need practise too. :D

You should have a PITMAN for your battery change, easy job compared to a nitro PITMAN :) ...

:D Now that must have been a thing to see! I remember at Trap Racing in Pretoria that some drivers had a torrid time getting into the pit lane! It was so funny to watch the less experienced guys trying to pit but only hitting the lane on about the 4th or 5th pass..........or run out of gas trying! :o

Great to hear that the runtime is so long! At least now I know what the hype is about.

Cheers

LOL I feel your pain, once or twice put my car in its box on a staggered grid only to find back on the rostrum its not switched on  BTW did the petrol heads sneer at your lil old electric car :0

A couple of them were well upset, they demanded a 30 min final because they knew i only had one charged battery left,no tools or charger with me,but one of the largescale guys charged my other Lipo pack.

The main 1/8 guy started saying they would spend the first 5 mins trying to smash my truck up,i said go for it,but i have tough bumpers.

The other thing that happened, was on the couple of times it needed marshalling, they gave me the "flame out/engine cut" sign [no noise because it`s electric.I spun the wheels slowly to make them put it down] then they put it back on track facing the wrong way, deliberately, but i have reverse,so that made everyone laugh.

There was some support, they aint all plonkers

It was good fun overall, thats why i go racing, not to upset anyone, but to have fun and help people out who are struggling.

OK,i don`t mind upsetting the plonkers
