Grasshopperii Axle Springs

Hi all, i recently bought a runner GrassHopperII off ebay, and while im pretty chuffed, i noticed one of the axle springs are missing.

I know how annoying these are, and dont really want to pay £8 for the metal parts bag,so are they worth it?

Could i run it without the springs, or even fit screws to hold the rear axle in place?

Any help would be great.

I've been running mine for many months without them. When I got mine off ebay it was missing one spring, so I bought a new set and they immediately broke, so I just ran without them. It does handle a bit better with them of course, but so far nothing bad has happened. Probably have ran about 40-45 battery packs to date without any issues.

personally i think it is more stable with em, and anything you can do to improve handling with that daft rear axle helps so i had a brainwave 1 day.....

I settled on a quick fix for now, two small lengths of fuel pipe, either side of the metal rod. (The one that goes through the rear gearbox)

This may get updated as and when, certainly does the trick for now........
